Please.... That woman's son Jesse is as gay as I am (....and his flame rides much higher than mine!)! That is one f***ed-up woman in denial about her own family! There are a lot of these fundamentalist nutjobs down here like that.... those who simply cannot - no WILL NOT - wrap their minds around the fact that if a person is gay, that is a natural inclination and that no amount of "homo no-mo ministries" or conversion therapy will work.

GAWD,,,, dang Republicans that keep saying this like this makes it difficult to support their Ideologies. Blaming gays for the economy is akin to blaming that mustache under your lip on your razor.

Gays are God's children, even if we mere humans don't agree or understand their sexual needs.
Hey lady, go to church and read the scripture about tossing stones. I'd bet if people looked into our 'lifestyle' we would have mush to ridicule.-

What is sad is that the next words out of her mouth will be about freedom. It is as if they don't listen to the very words they speak.

Of course, that can be said about almost every politician, regardless of party.

It's a headshaker, to be sure.

Even beyond the hate thing, howinthehell does gay marriage cause an economic downturn?
Oh, yeah. God hates queer so he trashed the economy to punish us. That would be god as the externalization and deification of the hatred of uptight people. -

This makes absolutely no sense. Unless she's of the same mold as the Rev. Pat Robertson. You know the guy who said 'God sent Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans and the other states to pay for their sins.' I forgot what a lot them where according to him.

The undisputable fact is that there will allways be fringe lunatics among us, on just about any subject one wishes to engage discussion in. All that is fine, as it should be in a free speech society such as ours.

What concerns me is the large number of supposedly "sane" individuals rushing in to give approval and support of truly warped self serving ideas. Its easy to ignore a single lunatic, but when they assemble in numbers strong enough to cause "free" people to loose some, or all of their freedoms, one starts to wonder whats next in line.
I have seen the "silent majority" raise up their heads in unisom more often lately, and I think its time that "silent" be abolished from being part of the description of the majority, permanently. -

Do I have to read this article to comment? If so, I won't. If not, then I can understand where she is coming from as I grew up around such people. Luckily I was able to get away from them.

Such absolute-truthers haven't the foggiest notion what Christianity is about and are surrounded by like thinkers. Whether the Representative comes from Oklahoma, Missouri, or Minnesota or some other state or is male or female doesn't matter. They are everywhere that you find intolerance. -

I can think of no logical explanation how gays and lesbians, their relationships or families, or anything tied to the gay community could possibly be responsible for the collapse and demise of the US economy. For that matter, doesn't it seem foolish to blame God every time something calamitous happens? Why can't we accept that sometimes natural (and some not so natural) disasters happen. The majority of the people in this country favor gay rights, favor some form of gay unions (married or civil) and favor ending discrimination. The sooner gays and lesbians are accepted as equals, the sooner the fight for equality can end.

Dammit, David, you gays have got to stop creating natural disasters and devastating the economy!

Oh, yeah, and I hear you are actually responsible for Mark Sanford's meltdown, too.
Do you have other superpowers, like flying and x-ray vision?
