This is one weird story! Not a word about safe-sex. Who thinks that the British are staid and "proper" these days? BTW this anonymous sex is NOT my cup of tea at all.. The pre-AIDS 60's were MUCH more fun in England and most other places!

The widespread use of sex for pleasure began in about 1998 or 1999. At that time, many twenty somethings or thirty somethings were feverishly engaged in examining and debugging gazillions of lines of computer code in order to prevent the impending collapse of civilization forecast for January 1, 2000. Those who could not debug turned to sex.

What your comment shows is that you are probably quite young. This could have taken place in the 60s, 70s, 80s, or 90s, or even in ancient times just as easily. There have always been people who used sex for recreational purposes.

What I found funny in this article is that it uses words like "intimate acts" to describe an orgy. I'm sure a lot of things take place at orgies, but intimacy is probably not one of them.-

Actually, I am not "quite young"-- not even close. Strictly tounge in cheek. It's an observation of mine that each generation seems to feel like it's discovered sex; and that all prior ones have horribly botched it by their standards.

were being facetious. I'll agree that each era seems to feel that
no one knew anything about it until them - and not the way they
did. I'd guess it's a bit of the self absorption that overcomes most of
us - especially when those hormones are raging - that as we
discover our newly evolved selves................we are discovering a
whole new universe. Surely it is all as new and changed as we are!

I have to disagree with you Chevy. I think women have always thought about sex and just as much as men. It's only been recently where it's become okay for women to express our desires and wants.

Thanks for posting this gama. I agree with you though about the safe sex part. If an orgy of this magnitude rocks someones boat great for them. It's not my cup of tea because of the lack of safe sex. Sure there were condoms by the door. But there should be more than that and it sounds like they weren't being used. By the door downstairs. Orgy upstairs. That doesn't make sense. -

I am a vintage Baby Boomer. The 60's covered my time in high school and college (an all-male school, I might add). So I saw many changes; have seen many since--not many of which I think are for the better. I believe that there's a price for everything--even stuff that is "good" or "fun". Don't really think that people appreciate the concept or even think about it.

I have dated a lot of women that were the sex on the first date type. I had very little interest in that scene. I never ever heard anyone talk of orgies, or even threesomes. I'm sure if I had the time I could find four women that would do that. Don't expect any beauties, same for the guys!!-

I did. I grew up in Milwaukee Wi in a blue collar neighborhood in the 1970-1980's. An employee/friend of my father invited him and my step mother to a party they were having. It was a swapping party and wasn't the first one they were invited too. According to my step mom they didn't partake of it. I'm also sure one of those parties may have turned into an orgy.
