This doesn't sound like a call for a "World Government"to me.It is more a call for the UN to have a stronger mandate.

I must make it clear, that I am not a catholic,or a Christian at all. However, the fact that the pontiff has called for a "redistribution of cash",is a positive step.It doesn't make him a socialist, just someone who is appalled at seeing billionaires, waste cash on more and more materialistic dross.Whilst in the third World, there are huge numbers of people, who permanently live at the point of starvation.Of course his arguments would be more believable and laudable,if the Catholic church in general and the Vatican specifically, sold some of it's massively expensive books and works of art. Then with the proceeds, help feed and educate the poor. That is one of the really annoying features of religion in general, they know how to tell ordinary people how to lead their live, whilst their leaders live lives of opulence and indulgence.Surly if the religious "practiced what they preached",they should be arguing for a more egalitarian and altruistic society.
