Posted By alexrehab 6 months ago in Science & TechnologyHairworms (Horsehair worms, Gordian worms, <i>Nematomorpha</i>) are parasitic animals that are morphologically and ecologically similar to nematodes. They are externally coverd by a cuticle without cilia. Internally, they have longitudinal muscle with no excretory, respiratory or circulatory systems. While the adult worms are live free in wet places including streams, puddles and cisterns, the larvae are parasitic on beetles, cockroaches, Orthoptera and crustaceans.
