WASHINGTON -- Seven Democratic members of the House Intelligence Committee wrote to CIA Director Leon Panetta in late June and asked him to "publicly correct" his May 15 statement that it is not the "policy or practice of the agency to mislead Congress," a copy of the letter obtained by FOX News shows.

FOX News has confirmed that the letter stems from testimony Panetta gave behind closed doors to the Intelligence Committee on June 24. The letter says Panetta told the committee that "top CIA officials have concealed significant actions from all Members of Congress, and misled Members for a number of years from 2001 to this week."
The lawmakers did not write the letter on official Congressional letterhead. A House source says this was not an official communication from the House Intelligence Committee. Furthermore, there was concern from others on the panel that the co-signers were trying to force Panetta to apologize for alleged problems created by the Bush Administration's CIA."
Very interesting. If this was a senate intelligence meeting "behind closed doors" it implies someone is leaking classified information??? And not an "official communication"?

So if the CIA has been misleading Congress why doesn't Pelosi and Reyes begin an investigation? Maybe because it would prove who has been misleading and lying and it might not be the CIA. Come on littl usefuls and call and write Pelosi, Reyes and your own Representatives to investigate this misleading by the CIA.

Good idea but they need to have the power to punish whatever criminal behavior they find no matter where it goes and regardless of the way to often used excuse, National Security. They would need to build a new prison just for the investigation.

If you watched anything but Murdock fascist noise, you would realize the house oversight committee was misinformed about Cheneys secret assissination squad, and about cheneys torture program to justify invading Iraq and killing or injuring 36,000 americans for his war profiteering and murdering 500,000 Iraqis because they were enemies of Israel. So the house intelligence committee, lied to by the CIA on the directions of Cheney, is trying to change the rules of oversight, but is being hindered by lying coward repugs, as usual.
