The ONLY thing that Democrats actually “inherited” was moron genes, a talent for demagoguery and deceit, and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid (please see “moron genes”).

Let’s not tell anyone that liberal Paul Krugman’s warning that we need a second stimulus is secret code for, “The first stimulus didn’t work worth squat, so let’s throw more money down the toilet.” And let’s for DAMN sure not tell anyone that unemployment benefits are going to be ending for workers starting in September and things will truly begin to increasingly suck after that as the unemployment rate grows like a “green shoot”..........Business professionals back in October predicted that Obama would literally bankrupt the country within three years if he was elected. Republicans (such as Paul Ryan) widely predicted the terribly flawed and terribly partisan pork-laden stimulus would fail – which is why only three out of 239 Republicans voted for it

That is so non-sensical as to not even be worthy of a detailed response (i.e. you totally misrepresent Krugmans remarks). The rest is pure partisanship. You are so biased in your thinking it is amazing you can drive down a straight road without veering right. You accept no responsibility for the Republican share of this mess. None. Until you are willing to accept that your party was a major player in this economic collapse. Clearly you are living outside the realm of reality.

This kind of crap and the garbage spewed over the last week in my home state defending Mark Sanford's actions have left me completely repulsed with the Right. You will justify any words, any action of a Republican. You are acting like spoiled little children who want their sandbox back so they can p--ss in it again. Hopefully you are forever banned.

We have nothing in common, nothing other than the fact we live between the same borders. To me your behavior is nothing more than an insult to America. I would have never thought we could have become further divided than the Bush years but that day is here.

Whatever guy, you have a PRESIDENT named Clinton that had sex in the oval office and the Democrats defended that. Where was your outrage?

Right now I'm listening to Pelosi talk about Michael Jackson in a news conference. Are you F'ing kidding me? THis is the party you love? THe party that would rather talk about Michael Jackson than helping out the protesters in Iran? The party that also did nothing when BUsh was ruining the economy.

Hate to say it but the same peope the Bush is in bed with are also in bed with your buddies the Democrats. Get real guy. You have no clue.

Does it need to be pointed out that Michael Jackson was American whereas the protesters in Iran are (how do I put this) not?

No one I know of or have heard of defended Clinton having sex with someone other than his wife in the White House or anywhere else. That is absolute bullsh-t. Now many did did say it was not a "impeachable" offense, that it was not a high crime or misdemeanor, big difference.

The point is Mark Sanford is not Bill Clinton. You are behaving like children as I said above. This is like saying Johnny threw a rock and broke a window so why can''t I? Clinton never held himself up as a paragon of virtue like Sanford. Nor did he desert his office for five days (the reason he should resign, not the affair) at anytime to be with his lover(s). Nor did he claim his was a love affair, while admitting to numerous liasons with other women. No one should be making excuses for either of these men's indiscretions. That is the point!

Your 2nd paragraph dissolves into the exact rhetoric I referred to. What exactly should (or could) the Democrats have done to stop Bush? The minority party is not responsible for the actions of the ruling party. The ruling party is the one that controls the veto. Period! Bush held total veto control for those 8 years, the Democrats never held any override capability. Go ahead and deny that fact! I don't recall Republicans saying there was anything wrong with his economic policies until the big lurch in Sept '08. . His "base" was quite well taken care of.

You have proved yourself a fool with your remarks. "No clue'? You simply are not dealing from a full deck. Playing with only jokers apparently.

No conservatives in here supported Bush's response to the economy. Calls to Congress by both Democrats and Republicans ran 70:1 against the Bush package. And oh by the way...Obama--after claiming that he inherited a mess made by Bush--one-upped Bush in stimulus spending.

            A. That's not change.
            B. If Democrats repeat--no, trump--Republican mistakes, they forfeit their pathetic attempt at blame-shifting.

And spare us your faux indignation theater. It plays well to an audience of you alone.

But McCain was just as gung-ho for the stimulus.

If it was so terrible, then why didn't your party nominate someone who would have done things differently?

Georgia and her usual clueless remarks. Impatient as h-ll for the stimulus to work accepting no reponsibility for her parties duplicity in the collapse. Tax cuts would have done nothing in the fall. And you weren't going to fool the public into buying into "trickle down" again.

"after claiming that he inherited a mess made by Bush"

C'mon, Bush could never have made this mess on his own. Judging from his foreign policy work it is doubtful he understood much of what was being done in his name. Afterall he never vetoed anything. He was rubber stamp president if we have ever had one. And politicians had little to do with these repackaged loans, where quick profit was taken and the repackaged nothings that remained dumped down the line for resale.

Let's forget the stimulus. Stop it all right now. Let's see where we end up in a year. The inaction you suggest, or action in the form of tax cuts, would have been disastrous. And if McCain had won there would have been constant infighting with Palin supporters like Limbaugh (who hates McCain) and Cheney (who clearly doesn't care for him either) and that entire wing of the party. The economy would likely have stalled, banks would have failed, we would be headed for a depression, not a deep recession. Thankfully we don't get to find out.

Fact of the matter is Paul Krugman was saying the first package was not enough when it was first passed.

Get a grip, the responsibility falls on both parties.......
