Massachusetts, the first state to legalize gay marriage, sued the U.S. government Wednesday over a federal law that defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

    The fallout from the Justice Department having to defend DOMA before two different courts on two different sides of the country will be breathtaking. The arguments presented in these separate cases will demand all that the Obama Justice Dept. can throw at it. Maybe if they toss enough poop, something will stick. Obama's AG need not defend the law quite so vigorously if he really does not like it so much.

    I'm not an attorney, but I feel that anything that will keep gay marriage legal should be pursued. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out. There seems to be hope.
