    The fallout from the Justice Department having to defend DOMA before two different courts on two different sides of the country will be breathtaking. The arguments presented in these separate cases will demand all that the Obama Justice Dept. can throw at it. Maybe if they toss enough poop, something will stick. Obama's AG need not defend the law quite so vigorously if he really does not like it so much.

      These cases present Obama with an easy out if, as some suspect, his decision not to push very strongly for same-sex marriage is motivated by political concerns.
