just the beginning. the country is starting to emerge from its Obamagasm induced stupor. What they are starting to see they do not like. On the news last evening there were references to another stimulus package as this one is not working. This morning there were reports that the stimulus money that was distributed to states for the SOLE purpose of creating jobs went instead to balancing their budgets and paying for medicaid and medicare costs . Nice.

Obama's trip to Russia was a dud - no one paid any attention to him.

You will notice that all of a sudden there is nothing about Obama and Russia in the headlines.

    www.whitehouse.gov/blog/In-Russia-Defining-the-Res...

(President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev sign documents on nuclear arms reduction
before their news conference at the Kremlin in Moscow Monday, July 6, 2009.
Official White House Photo by Chuck Kennedy)
In an interview with the Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta before the meeting, the President was asked to flesh out what this reset would mean:

Question: "Restarting" the relationship implies cooperating with Russia in those areas where it is possible. Does this mean weaker attention to Russia’s observation of civil rights and liberties, and to persecution against and murders of journalists? Specifically, to [the need to] apprehend and punish those who ordered and committed the murder of journalist Anna Politkovskaya?

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Of course not. I seek to reset relations with Russia because I believe that Americans and Russians have many common interests, interests that our governments recently have not pursued as actively as we could have.

For instance, I believe that Americans and Russians both would benefit from fewer nuclear weapons in the world, greater control over nuclear materials around the world, a defeat of extremist elements in Afghanistan and Pakistan, an Iran that produces nuclear energy but not nuclear weapons, and a North Korea that refrains from launching missiles and exploding nuclear weapons and instead returns to the negotiating table.

I also believe that Americans and Russians have a common interest in the development of rule of rule, the strengthening of democracy, and the protection of human rights.

As I said in my inaugural address: "To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history, but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist."

I then emphasized in my Cairo speech that "I do have an unyielding belief that all people yearn for certain things: the ability to speak your mind and have a say in how you are governed; confidence in the rule of law and the equal administration of justice; government that is transparent and doesn't steal from the people; the freedom to live as you choose.

These are not just American ideas; they are human rights." These are ideas embraced by your president and your people.

I agree with President Medvedev when he said that "Freedom is better than the absence of freedom."

So, I see no reason why we cannot aspire together to strengthen democracy, human rights, and the rule of law as part of our "reset."

    Comments on the visit:

"every time obama goes overseas –he gives away more and more of america—–you are kidding that we are now pulling back missles for ruusian air space"

"This is a joke…..Russia doesn’t have nearly as many arms and has been in a weakend position for a very long time……

All they have to do is sit back and do nothing…….

This disarmament will only apply to Washington….
Why do you think they were so agreeable to it…
What about American concerns about Iran and North Korea…."

"As I look into the Secretary’s tasks for the week, I see she has a closed door meeting today with ousted Honduran president Manuel Zelaya this afternoon and that she has been named to coordinate a president’s commission with Russia prime minister regarding the president’s discussions yesterday.

There is little detail, however, about this commission and her responsibilities other than a reported item that says she will travel to Moscow at some undetermined date.
Her comments on both of these matters–what little there has been–have been left to a State Department spokesman and there is little telling whose remarks he his representing, hers or the president’s.

Where Condi Rice was often very visible and articulate, Clinton, even in her official duties, seems to be fading and fading. Her elbow injury is now more than three weeks into treatment so that misfortune is now past.

As you will recall in the campaign, Hillary referred to Putin, the Russian prime minister as “evil,” and she said those remarks to oppose the stand that Obama had regarding dealing with Russia.

She has also been openly critical of Obama’s wimpish stand on Iran. I can not believe these comments are still fresh in Obama’s mind and Hillary may be look wondering when those stimulus jobs will include former cabinet officers.

Bloggers in and around Washington are noting her absence even more, citing Clinton’s absence from the Sunday morning talk shows.
I think Obama watchers should play close…"

It looks like Ohio voters are turning away from Democrats in all areas

    Quinnipiac University Poll
Ohio voters approve 46 - 42 percent of the job Gov. Ted Strickland is doing, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today, down from 57 - 29 percent in a May 6 survey.

Voters give Gov. Strickland two big thumbs down, disapproving 53 - 33 percent of the way he is handling the economy and disapproving 53 - 32 percent of the way he is handling the state budget. Voters also feel 40 - 34 percent that Gov. Strickland has not kept his campaign promises, the independent Quinnipiac University survey finds. These are Strickland's lowest scores on these three measures.

Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. "In addition, the squabbling over the state budget has taken its toll on Strickland's image, and that of the Legislature as well.

Independent voters, often the key to victory in Ohio elections, disapprove 45 - 42 percent of Strickland's overall job performance and giving him a 57 - 30 percent thumbs down for his handling of the economy.

Ohio voters disapprove 49 - 31 percent of the job the State Legislature is doing

You have to remember that Ohio has been hit VERY hard during this recession and the leaders on the state and national level are floundering around making promises they can never hope to keep

I wonder if Putin gave Obama more advice on reducing government spending and lowering taxes like they did in Russia? Isn't it a hoot that a former communists knows how to fix their economy but Obama and his Mob are too stupid to grasp the concept?

Down to 48% in virginia.....several weeks ago a poll in Oklahoma showed him with a 38% approval rating.

I'm guessing LA, San Fran, and NY are keeping him out of the negative digits right now....lol.

Ohio wants public option health care, rather than insurance monopoly controlled health care.

The radio waves in ohio consist of Glen Goebbles Mormon Beck followed by Oxy Limpballs, the other station is Cunginham from Cincinnati, a right wing insane tool. Nonstop propanda sponsored and paid for by the billionaires propandazing trailer trash to vote for the rich.

Cons want to conserve money and power, and the usual right wing morons on this blog front for these billionaires, lockstepping like good little brown shirt lemmings, hoping for some warm trickel down. They spew their talking points from self intrest, not for whats right for the country.

These same cowards deny global warming, and support sending 36,000 americans to their death for a neocon lie. They are traitors and thieves, cowards and chickenhawk war profiteers.

Oh, the Republican base (fifteen-percenters) are just hopin and prayin for some good news.

Good news to the fifteen-percenters is something, anything appearing negative about the other party- those Dems! It will take their minds off of Palin's resignation or Norm Coleman's Alamo stand defeat.

For tonight they can turn on their radios or TV and listen to Rush or Hannity (both back after a 2 day hiatus during the Palin quit job) to talk about polls. All night it's going to be about poll numbers. Then after turning the knob off (click), back to sleep where they can dream about Ronnie Reagan- and then maybe toss and turn thinking that somebody, ooh somebody may be doing something against their religion.

G-8 Nations fail to get agreement on climate change- Bottom line
In the end, people close to the talks said, the emerging powers refused to agree to the specific emissions limits because they wanted industrial countries to commit to midterm goals in 2020, and to follow through on promises of financial and technological help.

Now there's a thought Obama. Let's comment to goals and follow through on some financial and technological help. Focusing on emission limits is going to kill off a part of an economy that is still thriving. The global warming is a hoax anyway. Its getting cooler. Not warmer. Wake up!

Funny, when a poll says something like 72% of Americans want to see a public option in health care, the poll is 'bunk' or 'biased' or 'oversampled Democrats', but when a poll shows Obama slipping in popularity it's all of a sudden God's Gospel.

The People are finally seeing through this unqualified America Hater.
He had everyone hypnotized with his mantra.
          "Hope and Change....Hope and Change".
Now that the spell is broken and we can see his idea of what Hope and Change really is we don't like it.
          America is saying NEVER MIND.
So far all we got from him are lies and deception.

You libs can bet that the Whitehouse is watching the polls - just like Clinton did.

They live by the poll, so they're paying attention.

Why do you think they're trying to get the monstrous health care bill through in 5 weeks?

That isn't even enough time to read it and talk about it.

It's time the government slows down enough to at least READ the bills. Why such the big hurry to put these 1500 page bills through?

Got to be because there are secret parts of it that the Dems want pushed through before the people (remember the people, you know the citizens) get a chance to look it over and contact their congressmen/senators to tell them that they're out of a job if they vote for these pieces of sh*t.

This poll comes to no surprise to me, in alot of areas there has been no change, the policies of the former government are still being followed, the economy is continuing to fall and I'm not going to blame that on Obama or Bush but a whole bunch of governments and most people are a more than a little ticked at the auto bailouts.
I'm not a great fan of polls and I also realize that we are only 6 months into this administration so although interesting it isn't something that will determine what will happen in four years although there are midterms and the picture does have to change before then.

People of the United States of America have to worry about so many things, Obama is also playing George Bush in Afghanistan to distract the real problem in the US. So the Obama's administration will not do anything different than Bush when it comes to killing and torture and also economy. The system is such that he cannot do anything differently, the world can expect only cosmetic changes.
