Comments for Palin Justifies Her Whining About the Media as Self Defense »
Posted By capj71 5 months ago in Political NewsIn an interview with Time magazine, Sarah Palin tried to differentiate her whining about media coverage as different from what she accused Hillary Clinton of doing during the 2008 campaign. Palin said, “But freedom of speech and that invitation to constructively criticize a public servant is a lot different than the allowance to lie…” In summary, it is fine to whine as long as Palin is doing the whining.

"So Palin thinks that Hillary Clinton was whining when the right wing accused her of murdering Vince Foster, but it is perfectly fine for her to complain about criticism of her decision to resign as the governor of Alaska. Apparently, it isn’t whining when Palin is the one doing the complaining."
Reply
Kinda sums it up. Palin epitomizes the right wing in America no plans, no agenda, no view but call them on it and they begin whining that they are being picked on, being harassed and misunderstood. Im surprised her method of starting a Presidential run is to alienate as many people as she possibly can, to ignore all the shortcomings people pointed out, in her own party to boot, and continue to whine that everyone has it in for her. She drags her family to every campaign rally she had then wonders why they get mentioned?? Im beginning to think Endo is her manager.-

The only reason the "the right wing in America" appears to have "no plans, no agenda, no view," is that they recognize that government has no role in fixing problems, bit a big role in causing problems. The private sector broke the economy and they are the only ones that can fix it (once given the government cash that they have requested).

If private industry had regulated itself, innovative investment would not have resulted in privatized profits and socialized losses.

I don't know how any Liberal Democrat kind feel good about the way Palin was treated. I mean here we have the so-called party of woman's rights and feminist movement, ripping into a women, Palin, and her family because she has a different point of view than they have.
Reply
Basically the woman's rights movement breaks down like this. If you aren't a Liberal then you are stupid Flight attendant looking *****. If you share Liberal views then your awesome and power to the women.
The woman's rights movement is completely political and the way the Liberals have destroyed Palin shows us exactly how this works. This is also true for race and gender rights. If your Colin Powell then you an "Uncle Tom". See how it works these days?-

Yes, the women's rights movement is completely political.
Reply
Liberal women oppose Palin because she only cares about her own rights--she wants to take away other women's rights.
As for Colin Powell, neocons now label him a racist RINO because he supported Obama.

At first I thought the SPA was the "Speak Plainly America" party... and I was dumbfounded. There's no way she could head that, since she can't get out a full sentence without contradicting herself. (Notice how in the quote in the article it was she and her family that were taking the pot-shots, not the pot-shots being taken at her?)
Reply
Then I saw it was "Speak Palinly" and I realized this would be akin to the ministry of silly walks. I'm completely in favor of it!

Er...what?? I'm a liberal who hardly expects all women to be liberals. Do you have any evidence to back that up, that the ENTIRE women's rights movements breaks down "like this"? Please, I am very anxious to view it.
And what a sexist thing to say...why do you shallow and superficial men think that we women are incessantly jealous of anyone who is deemed "hotter" than us by society? I enjoy looking at a pretty woman as much as I enjoy looking at a handsome man. I don't automatically look at her and think, "Hm, I wonder if she's liberal? If she is, then she's HOT! If not, then she's just some stupid flight attendant looking [blank]".
OMG, that is one of the dumbest things I've read today...and the day is still young. 8(

and the bullies continue the victimization. especially the author of this article.
Reply
maybe i can just read better than the author. Palin isn't complaining about the abusive comments, any more than Hillary did. she's complaining about thecontinual sniping that has run up a $500,000 legal bill to defend what she calls spurious legal attacks.
she's being SLAPP (stategic lawsuit against public participation) suited right out of office because she can't afford to defend herself. for the lefties, that's probabaly the goal. to eliminate her as a political threat. a threat to what, i'd ask. this fear of her is astounding.
at this point, because the left won't lay off, i'm wishing her well.-

palin doesn't pay for FOIA requests, the state does.
Reply
she WILL need to pay for legal representation for possible ethics violations, or i suppose if she can't afford it the state will provide a public defender and pay for that too.
and as far as getting the $hit kicked out of one...when this happens, one usually takes cover. one doesn't make a target of oneself. -

Where have the FOIA requests and ethics complaints originated. The general US? If not, it is a regional issue that has nothing really to do with her national aspirations or presence. If the allegedly superfluous lawsuits are occurring at the national level, then there might be something to it.
Reply
I think some of the issues, especially those regarding tax deductions, certainly have merit and she has acknowledged that. Since there seems to be some substantiation to this issue, it isn't a leap to consider there may be merit elsewhere. It is the yardstick that many here measure with. Remember all those Obama appointees? Quite frankly, I don't see how any of them should have been confirmed. They all should have been treated like any other citizen. -

Complaints are not "charges". She hasn't been CHARGED with anything, nor is there any investigation in the works either according to the FBI announcement a few days ago. That's what it says in the "newspaper" and on the 6 o'clock news. I'm not a huge fan either and like you I think she's getting an undeserved bum rap.

Close attention is being paid and I'm up to speed. Any time a complaint is made it has to be investigated by her attorney(s), they don't work for free. It doesn't matter where the complaint originates. All I said was she hasn't been charged with anything nor is she under investigation. Now, if you believe otherwise and ready to present the facts then have at it. Maybe you know something the FBI doesn't?

Some of the ethics violation complaints against Palin were filed BEFORE she ran for Vice President, a few were filed by REPUBLICANS and ALL of them have been filed in Alaska by Alaskans.
Reply
Contrary to her lie that these suits have cost Alaska "millions of dollars", the state has paid less than $300,000 in connection with these charges to date.
She has already been forced to reimburse the state of Alaska for $3,000 in travel charges for her children, so do you really expect us to believe she has been bullied out of office by the national media or that she quit for the benefit of Alaska?-

Not quite true. One was filed with a fictitious name.
"She has already been forced to reimburse the state of Alaska for $3,000 in travel charges for her children..."
Not quite true, again. The complaint was dismissed, she was not forced to repay the money, but she did anyway. -

Those 2 statements aren't exactly true. The 18 complaints, as compiled by ADN

If the fictitious name was not from Alaska, where was it from?
Reply
OK, I'll concede she was not FORCED to replay the money she took for schlepping her children along on her business travels, but let's not pretend she would have reimbursed Alaska for these misappropriated funds had no claim been filed against her in that regard.-

Agreed Progressive. She should have paid it, without the complaint, but without it, you're right. As for the fictitious name, who knows? But it leaves open the question of where it came from.

I see my link didn't come out right, were you able to get there anyway? There was more detail there.

if you are implying that we are worried that palin will become more popular than obama, you really are delusional, or is it just wishful thinking.

if palin wins the republican nomination next time around, i will cheer, because it will clearly demonstrate the continuing dysfunction of the republican party. -

do YOU really think that she's resigning because she feels like it? she's articulated, in her own disjointed way, that she and her office have become paralyzed by attacks coming from all directions all the the time.
maybe you'd have time to fend off the baloney, but maybe she is doing what's best for Alaska. do you think the next guy is going to face any of this? me neither.
its nothing but raw, punch you in the face politics.-

Sort of like the "vast right-wing conspiracy" that has been after the Clintons since the 90's? I think some of the stuff that has come out about Palin has been unfair, but it's nothing more than what Hillary has faced, including attacks on her kid. Surely Palin who claims to be as tough as pitbull can handle what a Clinton can, can't she?
