Over the past few years, Fox News host Sean Hannity has repeatedly smeared progressives and Democrats by cropping their comments in a way that misrepresented them. Most recently, during the July 8 edition of his Fox News show, Hannity spliced President Obama's answer to a Fox News reporter's question about the Cold War to suggest that Obama did not acknowledge the actions of past U.S. presidents in freeing Eastern Europe. As Media Matters for America documented, Hannity edited out the part of Obama's answer in which he said, "I'm very proud of the traditions of Democratic and Republican presidents to lift the Iron Curtain."
Media Matters has documented numerous instances in which Hannity has cropped quotes or clips to misrepresent what actually was said.-

The corruption that has controlled Washington for the last 8 years has a lot of power, and is willing to go to great lengths to hold on to it.
Reply
To put it simply, they are starting early in their campaign to regain control in Washington.
It's gotten to the point that politics is no more than a constant power struggle, and each side will do whatever is necessary to stay on top. Until we all realize this, and repeatedly vote the bastar ds out, we are at their mercy. -

Sean Hannity's type of crass opinion - presented as fact - is one of main reasons intelligent people are looking to Mainstream Media ... like FOX.
Reply
That's right ... Sean Hannity ... IS Mainstream Media.
Right Wingers ... especially here on Propeller ... like to portray FOX as being somehow ... APART from Mainstream Media ...
They like to imagine it's some sort of David against Goliath.
The fact is ... FOX is every bit as big as the other Giants.
The difference is ... NBC, CBS, NBC ... those stations were founded by AMERICANS ... with AMERICAN values.
FOX was founded by an AUSTRALIAN ... who has never had any interest in The United States of America ... other than making money.

Hannity is just a paid shill for the "powers" that use our media to try to keep us dumb, docile and under control. He does nothing more than waht those powers want. He is replaceable.
Reply
Our mistake is not to ferret out and expose to the light of day the power structures that hire those like Hannity in their efforts to run America for their own benefit. -

While your sentiment has some good intentions it isn't practical. Like the old saying...Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it...this could be more of a bane than a boon.

What really needs to happen is the breaking up of the two-party system. We need some viable, realistic alternatives that aren't just votes taken away from democrats or republicans.

Cropping is common place with faux news. If their viewers bothered to pay attention to more than their propaganda, they'd know better. Sadly, they'll never change which empowers clowns like Hannity to keep doing the same thing over & over again.

A specific in all this is when Hannity and/or others claim that Obama is going to quaduple the national debt. The total national debt (found on debt to the penny websites) is about $11.5 trillion right now. The first full fiscal year for the Obama Presidency does not start until October 1. Are these folks claiming that the national debt will climb to more than $20 trillion before Obama is done? That is not the plan, for sure. So, are they talking about the annual budget, which George W. claimed was as low as $250 billion per year. But that does not jive with the total of about $6 trillion that was accumulated under George W. ($5.5 to $11.5). No, the annual deficit under Bush II averaged about $500 billion per year. True, it looks like our annual deficit for 2008/2009 will be about $1 trillion, but that is because of the mess that George W. left behind more than what Obama has done since he took over. So, the point is that the statements that Hannity and others put about about Obama doubling, tripling and/or quadrupling our national debt need to be challenged for accuracy.

Murdoch bribed Newt Gingrich to lobby for him even as he was a "public servant" to get the laws changed so he could buy Fox. Murdoch has made no secret that he launched the news network to take out Bill Clinton. Murdoch is a neocon and the propaganda noise from his newscorp is just that. Republican led "deregulation" has removed the safeguards that wiser generations installed to protect us from monopolization...how hard is it to control all media if there are only 6 owners? Not very! Buy controlling interest in 6 companies and viola! Your the "opinion maker". Buy some DC bottomfeeders to go along with it and you rule the world.

Hello....and the other groups of media..or people do not do the same thing?...Why just take for example the literal hate almost daily with Sara Palin?...Really, even a half brain person can see right through this article...'THEY' ALL DO IT...It is a matter of degree...
Reply
This back and forth blame game is moot...The bottom line is we are getting further and further into debt...with little if nothing to show for it, for it looks like a number of years more away..If you are comfortable where you feel you are now...great...then continue following your elected officials...We are in control with the VOTE. -

and the left wing media never does this Go Hannity. Someone has to try and wake the people up, your country is being stolen from you and guess what, by the end of this there will be no jobs left unless you work for the government and they will eventually run out of rich people to tax.

I'm always surprised when people are shocked to discover that news sources aren't scrupulously fair--that is, don't present a carefully achieved neutrality of viewpoint.

The truth is, partisan bias is built into all news reporting. The adult, thinking news consumer recognizes this, and adjusts his or her expectations accordingly. -

They want everything slanted to agree with their hardline view of the world. ... oh ... excuse me. .. .. ...

I've never seen such a bunch of whining, cry babies in my life as you Liberal loons. What you're saying Hannity does is the exact same thing every TV news network, radio station, and Internet blog has done with Limbaugh's four words (I hope Obama fails) that was constantly taken out of context.

Who is saying FOX is mean?

I think those Liberals on Propeller are just saying it's founded by a hardline Australian .. with absolutely no allegiance to traditional American Values.
And ... since Modern Republicans have no allegiance to American Traditional Values ... specifically ... democratic processes .... they make a perfect match!
See?
No whining.
Just observation.
