Sure a President can be removed if he violates the law, but unless he/she is removed using constitutional means, then it's a coup.

If enough members of Congress decide Obama has violated the U.S. Constitution then they have the legal means to remove him from office. If they go around the Constitution, don't give him his day in court and kick him out of the country, it would be a coup too.
