Posted By dissent 5 months ago in NewsTwo representatives of the Peace Now organization and members of an Israeli television crew were attacked last week by a settler who objected to their presence in the West Bank as they documented construction in the settlements.
The footage, originally broadcast on Channel 2 Television and posted online by Peace Now, shows a security guard at the Dolev settlement snatching and destroying the TV crew’s camera equipment and later attacking the activists’ car with rocks.

Idan is a very brave and patriotic fellow - Peace Now is doing such important work. The world should show more appreciation for their efforts - but the world would have to KNOW about these events first and that seems to be a huge problem.........

i agree, anteup. and i applaud their courage, their conviction and their work and that of others like them. where are the vicious attack dogs that wish to silence any criticism of israel? where are the calls of anti-semtism now? their savage verbal abuse, derision, condescension and obfuscation have no basis, except in blind fear, narrow-minded hatred and bigoted indoctrination, much like the stone thrower in this news broadcast with everything to hide. there is little they can say when the news that is most damning of israel's criminal policies comes.... from israelis within israel itself!

Let's see, this beats the 40 that were killed by their own people/insurgents in Iraq today alone after American troops withdrew from the area. It beats the 25 that were killed in Pakistan as well. Should I keep going? You berate Israel, which has problems, but you never speak of the ongoing atrocities in the Muslim world against innocent men, women and children. And, you NEVER speak about Jordan which takes up 2/3 of Palestinian land and is ruled by members of the Saudi Royal Family. Why is it OK for Jordan to take up most of Palestine, but not Israel? Maybe it's hypocrisy? Or maybe, it's OK because Jordan is Muslim, and the Palestinians are just a political pawn who really don't matter to you. If they did, you'd be yelling for Jordan to give the land back as well.

I am not so convinced by Peace Now as I used to be and as I find out more about them. Their basic position seems to be motivated by "trying to keep the loot we already stole" and "don't draw attention to this with further thefts".

I have yet to hear them ever say peeps about the over seven million christian and moslems refugees from zionist ethnic cleansing (the world's biggest refugee problem).
There is not much difference between the conventional left and right wing zionists in terms of their treatment of palestinians.
There are real jewish, israeli heros (like this one),but Peace Now is not amongst them.

Thanks for the site. And the information. Only with information and facts can we shine a light on such a huge crime of ethnic cleansing and aggression against human beings whose main crime is NOT being Jewish. I wonder if, after six million Palestinians have been killed, will there be any memorials for them? There are NO world-wide memorials for the 20 million Russian Christians killed during during Josef Stalin's reign of the U. S. S. R. Although I know millions of Russians still feel the pain and loss, some of whom are survivors of the Soviet death camps. Notice how this "holocaust" of Russian Christians is NEVER mentioned in the United States of America.

at some point will let the right-wing extremists know that their behavior is totally unacceptable - instead of encouraging them.
I think there is the possibility of Israeli Jews and Palestinians living as neighbors peaceably.It doesn't always have to be the impossible dream.........it COULD happen.
I had my own reservations about Americans For Peace Now.
I called and talked to them about our differences and
found that we did have similar, but not exactly the same
view. Still, I felt their efforts were worthwhile and
appreciated their activism. It may not be the perfect
solution but I have come to believe that a Palestinian
State would be the best outcome possible. I cannot
go back 60 years and sort it out from scratch - I think
a plan that has a possibility of being implemented SOON
is the best course. BUT it must be fairly drafted as regards
water rights, travel, airspace, and trade. We must not tolerate
the word "state" being slapped on - and then closing the Palestinians in yet another cage - with their liberties
dependent on the acquiescence of the neighboring state (Israel)
There must be a state - freedom and the opportunity to LIVE.
I have never cared that much for Bradley Burston - but the
piece that dissent put up here on Propeller was riveting -
it was near poetic........I LOVED it.

It is not that I approve the actions of the settlers
from Israel (I do not), but what I see coming from you
is not an objection to behaviour of a certain kind, but
only objection to that behaviour if it is committed
by Jews. Where is your outrage when such things are
done for example by the Chinese? You single out Jews to
criticise, so without doubt in my mind you are a bunch of

Israel: a Jewish state, of, for, by, Jews only. What does this mean? It means that they are practicing ETHNIC CLEANSING, getting rid of Palestinian Christians and Muslims, getting rid of all Muslims or Christians, except those hired by Israelis to come there and work as servants.
Israel says it is a "democracy." That only includes Jews, not non-Jews; ie.: Gentiles.
GAZA: the world's LARGEST PRISON. A million and a half Palestinians are imprisoned there, receive limited food, water, electricity; they are forbidden to rebuild their shattered homes, schools, public buildings. During OPERATION CAST LEAD, over a thousand Palestinians were killed--fish in a barrel for the Israelis. Over 300 of them were CHILDREN. The charge was that Palestinians lobbed a few homemade rockets into Israel. (Most of which missed any target). That gave Israel the excuse to use its ARMY, its tanks, planes, white phosphorous, guided missiles, to terrorize the Palestinians who could not leave the area (they're in prison!) and who could not even take refuge in mosques, churches, UN buildings, schools, hospitals--because Israeli soldiers were bombing and strafing everything.
Israelis are anti-Gentile. They hate, fear, and want to destroy anyone who is non-Jew. And this will be their undoing. BOYCOTT, SANCTION, DIVEST ISRAEL for the good of the world. (hit them where their hearts are: in the pocketbooks.)-

1st, this is a story about ISRAEL, NOT China, Darfur, Somalia, or anywhere else.
2nd, we DID & DO speak out - South Africa, Tieniman Square, USSR in Afghanistan, Rwanda, Darfur, Palestinian attacks on innocent Israelis, US invasion of Iraq, etc, etc, etc. Just b/c u dont' see it on this thread doesn't mean we're not doing it.
Now, that being said, do you have anything else to add about THIS story?

anti-Israel. The only other country against which there are postings
by her is the USA. Makes her claim "Some of us single out
EVERYBODY, including Chinese" suspect to say the least.

Given that in this story both the victims and the attackers, as well as the reporters were Jews, how can you say that the people posting on this thread are antisemitic? Nobody is hostile toward the victims or the reporters, so are we really hostile toward Jews in general? It can't even be said that we are hostile toward Israelis in general since they are all Israelis too.
I guess we( or at least I) are hostile toward Israeli bullies who disregard the rights of others. I might as well add that I'm hostile toward similar bullying behavior everywhere around the world, no matte who perpetrates it. The problem is that there is an abundance of examples of it lately in Israel and that's what causes the submission of many articles about them. Please feel free to submit articles about similar behavior from other parts of the world, and we'll discuss them.

And this posting or those who propped it can be called anti-Israel or antisemitic only if you consider colonization of West Bank, ethnic cleansing and violence against Palestinians to be acceptable behavior.
As much as you "do not" approve of settler actions or China's policies for that matter, I don't see any objections coming from you. I don't see any submissions or comments in that regard. What I do see are character attacks on your fellow board members.

if you think these postings are just an excuse to "bash" israel then you must believe that all such criticism of israel is unjustified.
