Remember when a bunch of us were saying that the Cap and Trade Bill was a bunch of crap and that it was just a massive tax that would do nothing to actually impact global warming?

Yeah, one of the darlings of the Global Warming movement agrees. -

Not exactly. Hansen is on the opposite end of the opposition to this fiasco of a bill.
Reply
He wants more restrictions on emissions, etc. He just realizes this bill doesn't have anything to do with protecting the environment and everything to do with creating revenue for the government.

This has been a scam since the beginning. Guys like Hansen know that the Earth goes through warming and cooling cycles. They had hoped to scare us into cap and trade style taxation and government-dictated control of the economy (economic fascism) about a decade ago (Kyoto treaty) before the Earth began its next cooling cycle so they could take credit for it happening.

Many in the AGW scam movement have changed the term "global warming" to "climate change" but that isn't working too well; the climate is always changing. Now they're predicting that the cooling is only temporary (which it is) and the global warming will come back in another ten or twenty years (which it will if previous 30 to 40 year natural cycles of cooling and warming continue). When the next warming trend occurs, they will jump out from the bushes to scare us again with "See! We told you so."

It hasn't been since the 1800's now since a president has been censured...as I have over and over...and will continue until they get the picture...a president is no more than the next man unless he acts less. Trouble is for Oboma...he acts less than a man...by acting like he is more. -

Am I the only one to think that 1,400 pages is way too many!? If it isn't simple enough to read in a single sitting, it's unlikely to be followed. Too many exceptions make things less fair, not more fair. Who's writing these piles of garbage?

well, cap and trade is stupid.

but the cons on here should realize that its a compromise move for them, not for libs. cap and trade lets the wheeling and dealing continue and lets polluters keep on polluting.
and who do you think wants this? pro-big business cons for one.
and now that you all are listening to James Hansen, will that now include listening to him about what he believes on global warming and humanity's role in it? or does it simply stop here?-

LOL! Al Gore is not a conservative.
And just because we agree with Hansen on the fact that this bill does nothing to actually reduce greenhouse gases, doesn't mean we think the government's role should be to impose such intrusive sanctions on private businesses and people.
One thing is certain, a whole lot of people think this bill is a bad idea except for Obama and Democrats.

Cap and Trade is a disaster waiting to happen. How could our executive and legislators even consider raising the cost of doing bussiness at a time like this? It is utterly moronic. Maybe the supporters will wake up when they see their electric rates go through the roof. At any rate the fact that Obama has suggested using the EPA to mandate this in the face of legislative opposition clearly shows his disdain for the checks and balances set up in the constitution.
