      I dropped that story yesterday.
It took a nut case rant and implied that all libs ranted.

      This post examines a republican who seems kinda racist;
      - and discusses if other republicans will vote for her as the next head of the Young Republicans.

      Were you confused,
      - or just trying to confuse?

Of my more than 1,000 submissions, none has ever been voted controversial.

Of my more than 3 submissions,
none has ever gotten read by my mom.

But I think it would be fun for all of us to suddenly
drop one of your posts, crush it with drops till it squeaked a yellow warning.

We may do this if the summer gets as dull as it looks like it is going to be.

I don't care if any of my submissions ever get dropped enough to acquire the yellow warning, but if my mother were on Propeller, I'd know it was time to close my account and spend the rest of the summer on the porch with a few good books.:-P

I like to look for out of print biographies when local libraries have book sales. At the moment I'm reading one on D.H. Lawrence by Philip Callow.

and around and around we go

I agree. The pseudo-cons post an obvious emotional e-mail from someone name Theressa who was obviously upset at how the mind of the pseudo-con sees the Democrats (as the enemy) and try to sum it up as "fairly typical liberal mumbo-jumbo"

Then Progressive post an thought provoking article that exposes the racism, hatred and bigotry of a young pseudo-con hopeful, complete with actual facts and not inuendos or misleading images.

Yeah that how it goes round and round....

        More wah

I don't think so. This young lady wants to be chairman of the Young Republicans. As far as I can tell Theresa is not aspiring to be anything. And it appears that other Young Republicans are the ones calling on her to remover herself from the election for her racist appeasement.

How do you not see the difference between the two articles?

The post we dropped yesterday was about one e-mail from one person with no political power, who does not speak for her party.

This is a news article about documented racially offensive quotes from someone who is the frontrunner to lead an offical Republican organization.

to even try to equate a story about an anonymous lefty writer of a hate letter to a fifth-rate blog and a story about the new leader of the young republicans being a racist is pretty stupid, shows which way you're leaning and undercuts your own, obviously ridiculous, claims of centrism.

there is no equivalency between the two. moral or otherwise.

              around and around you go.

These new details come as hundreds of Young Republicans—many of whom, tellingly, given the party’s recent troubles with Generation Y voters, are pushing 40—descend on Indianapolis to chose their leader.

Think the Democratic party is any better? I mostly see only "rhetoric" changes, but not much else. I am reaching the conclusion that the Dems are equally infested and tainted.

Bush and Obama - Two Sides of the Same Coin: Heads-Heads

                          http://www.propeller.com/story/2009/05/28/bush-and...

During the campaign, amid their state of elation, many disregarded Presidential Candidate Senator Barack Obama’s past record and took any criticism of these past actions as partisan attacks deserving equally partisan counterattacks. Some continued their reluctant support after candidate Obama became grand finalist and prayed for the best. And a few still continue their rationalizing and defense, with illogical excuses such as ‘He’s been in office for only 20 days, give the man a break!’ and ‘He’s had only 50 days in office, give him a chance!’ and currently, ‘be reasonable — how much can a man do in 120 days?!’ I am going to give this logic, or lack of, a slight spicing of reason, then, turn it around, and present it as: If ‘the man’ can do this much astounding damage, whether to our civil liberties, or to our notion of democracy, or to government integrity, in ‘only’ 120 days, may God help us with the next [(4 X 365) - 120] days.....

Despite all the promises Mr. Obama made during his campaign, especially on those issues that were absolutely central to those whose support he garnered, so far the President of Change has followed in the footsteps of his predecessor. Not only that, his administration has made it clear that they intend to continue this trend. Some call it a major betrayal. Can we go so far as to call it a ‘swindling of the voters’?

                          On the State Secrets Privilege

Yes, I am going to begin with the issue of State Secrets Privilege; because I was the first recipient of this ‘privilege’ during the now gone Administration...

Not only has the new administration continued the practice of invoking SSP to shield government wrongdoing, it has expanded its abuses much further. In the Al Haramain case, Obama’s Justice Department has threatened to have the FBI or federal marshals break into a judge’s office and remove evidence already turned over in the case, according to the plaintiffs attorney. Even Bush didn’t go this far so brazenly....

                          On NSA Warrantless Wiretapping

The new Administration has pledged to defend the Telecommunications Industry by giving them immunity against any lawsuit that may involve their participation in the illegal NSA wiretapping program.

Obama’s Justice Department defended its predecessor not only by using the State Secrets Privilege, but taking it even further, by astoundingly granting the Executive Branch an unlimited immunity for any kind of ‘illegal’ government surveillance.

Let me emphasize, the Obama Administration’s action in this regard was not about ‘being trapped’ in situations created and put in place by the previous administration. These were willful acts fully reviewed, decided upon, and then implemented by the new president and his Justice Department....

                            Accountability on Torture

President Obama’s action and inaction on Torture can be summarized very clearly as follows: First give an absolute pass, under the guise of ‘looking forward not backward,’ to the ultimate culprits who had ordered it. Next, absolve all the implementers, practitioners and related agencies, under the excuse of ‘complying with orders without questioning,’ and then start giving the ‘drafters’ of the memos an out by transferring the decision for action to the states....

Not only that, he goes even further to shove his secrecy promotion down other nations’ courts throat.... Today he and his administration unapologetically maintain the same Bush Administration position on extraordinary rendition, torture, and related secrecy to cover up....

The Revival of Bush Era Military Commission

After all the talk and pretty speeches given during his presidential campaign on the ‘failure’ of Bush era military tribunals of Guantanamo inmates, Mr. Obama has decided to revive the same style military commission, albeit with a little cosmetic tweak here and there to re-brand it as his own. .... Thankfully the ‘on the record’ statements of Candidate Obama in 2008 on this issue, contradicting his action today, are accessible to all:....

Here is the first paragraph in a New York Times report on May 15, 2009:

“The number of civilians killed by the American air strikes in Farah Province last week may never be fully known. But villagers, including two girls recovering from burn wounds, described devastation that officials and human rights workers are calling the worst episode of civilian casualties in eight years of war in Afghanistan.”....

All this death and destruction is carried out while the administration’s Afghan policy is still murky and confused, and it’s strategy ambiguous. Sure, our so-called ‘New’ Afghan Strategy includes more troops and asks for a much larger budget allocation; nothing new there. It is another war with no time table. It is the continuation of the same abstract ‘War on Terror’ without any definition of what would constitute an ‘accomplished mission.’ ...

....I can go on listing cases of Mr. Obama’s change on change. Whether it is his reversal on protection for whistleblowers, despite his campaign promise to the contrary, or his expansion of the Un-American title of ‘Czardom,’ where we now have more czars than ever: Border Czar, Energy Czar, Cyber Security Czar . . . Car Czar . . . maybe even a Bicycle Czar!. Or . . . But for now I’ll stick with the major promises that were ‘Central’ to him getting elected, all of which he has flipped on in less than 150 days in office, a track record indeed....

...With too much at stake, too many unfinished agendas for the course of our nation, and too many skeletons in the closet in need of hiding for self-preservation, the ‘permanent establishment’ made certain that they took no risk by giving the public, via their MSM tentacles, a coin that no matter how many times flipped would come up the same — Heads, Heads.

When you don't correct another's slander and racist comments on your website then you are passively responsible for the content and by inaction, condoning the message. If the Republican party continues to enlist and support these types of people, the party will implode.

There are only these far right loonies left, and those who haven't been paying attention enough and think people like Eisenhower or Goldwater wouldn't be drummed out as socialists in "today's" GOP.

She doesn't represent anybody. Why is it that any racist comments that some lunatic makes, the media says that they represent the Republican party. This kind of journalism is part of the ongoing media smear campaign against the GOP. What they, the media, don't understand is that even if they manage to undermine or even end up eliminating the GOP, the party that takes it's place will be a FAR more powerful grass roots party than the GOP ever was. Be careful what you wish for.

She will represent all young (under 40) Republicans if she is elected tomorrow.

                              FTA:

Audra Shay, accused of endorsing racism on Facebook, is favored to become the head of the Young Republicans tomorrow.

                                That would be true if she were not running for a position in the Republican party;
and not connected to many who hold high position.

As it is, whether she represents anybody else in the party is the question .

                                And go ahead and wish for what you want;
you aren't going to get it anyway.

She's also supported by another of the GOP's Presidential hopefuls:

                                  FTA:

A spokesman for Shay’s most important supporter, the governor of her home state, Louisiana’s Bobby Jindal, said his boss was traveling and couldn’t comment on these new details about Shay.

What the big deal? She wants a leadership position in the GOP so she has to tow the party line.........complete with subtle racism, bigotry, hatred for democracy, all the things that go with the modern day pseudo-conservative and, most importantly, the ability to pull a Hannity out of her a$$ at any time. I'd say she's a shoe-in.

Exactly right D. Loyality to the party and the sudden look in the eye and easy smile, you've got to be trusted by the people that you lie to, so when they turn their back on you, you'll get the chance to stick the knife in. Repuglicon values 101.

The smirk and wink and racism, why a con would be naked without them.

Is there an IQ test you have to flunk in order to be a member of this party? What is the standard, 80, 50, 0? Some of these people would eat the #2 pencil and leave the paper blank.

Naw...we just use a brain cell count.

Any brain cell count 5 or under makes you a Democrat. Any brain cell count above 5 lets you attempt to be a Republican.

(Hint: if you're still trying to count yours, you're a Democrat)

Actually, if you can count to one or more you are a non republican. Republicans have to ask what is a number ?

Every worthless liberal on this forum lets slide the cinematic dramatization of the assassination of Bush, and we're to think nothing.

This aspiring young Republican let's slide some idiotic comment from some idiotic poster, and all that this idiotic contributor appears to believe is fully, completely, and immediately imputed to the 38-year old.

Way to go, liberals. If nothing else, you're predictable.

In October 2008, in the wake of news that an effigy of Sarah Palin was being hung outside an affluent Hollywood home as an offensive Halloween decoration, Shay replied, returning to the “LOL” style that she employed after the “*****” comment: “What no ‘Obama in a noose? Come on now, its just freedome [sic] of speech, no one in Atlanta would take that wrong! Lol.”

I asked this of someone else the other day out here and got no defensible answer:

                                                  How is Sotomayor racist?

If you're talking about Ricci v. Destefano, her opinion was based on existing legal precedent, not on any type of desire to promote minorities at the expense of whites. (You can read it yourself.)

If it's based on membership in La Raza, as the other commenter I asked stated, then the question is: What's racist about La Raza? (I got no answer the other day.)

                                                  Klarissa-

In all seriousness, the "liberals" DID make a mistake on the "firefighter's test" case.

When the scores came back and it decided to change the test, fine. What they SHOULDN'T have done was try to refuse the jobs to those who PASSED the test successfully, by studying diligently and following by the rules they were told.

All that had to be done was get a new test that works for everybody and just say these were the last guys in under the previous criteria.

                                                  It would have been EASY.

But (I have to say it) liberals often don't take human nature into account at all. Trying to take something away from people who won it "fair and square" is IDIOTIC. (However this does NOT justify any criminal Conservatives who cheated the system and did NOT get anything they got fair and square.)

The liberals handled it all wrong, I agree with you righties.

The opinion in Ricci v. Destefano was based on existing legal precedents that attempted draw a clear distinction on how to apply Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

Anyone who's interested can read that opinion in this 48-page PDF:

Everyone in this case needs some education about how to determine "disparate impact". The law DOES NOT require that each and every instance of an exam have a racially neutral outcome.

The ruling you linked mixes up "average", "a test", and other descriptions into a jumble of logic. You simply can not have an "average" when looking at a single instance of an exam. In order to assess the validity of a single instance of an exam a validation study and other finding of fact simply MUST be done.

Here is a question. How do you accurately predict the outcome of the next test when you only have one data point? You simply can't! You can make an argument that similar results will occur due to various other factors, but there is NO mathematical means of doing so with only one data point to look at.

Everyone screwed up here by not presenting enough facts to make an adequate assessment of a single instance of an exam. What were the levels of training of each individual? How about years of service, i.e. experience? Prior exam scores? On and on.

In the end, the city of New Haven has a lot to answer for. If training is a problem, then they screwed up by not adequately training minorities. If length of service (i.e. experience) is an issue then that should have been presented as a requirement for the test. Again, on and on.

You could very well be right in your analysis of the case.

I wasn't necessarily arguing that Sotomayor's ruling was correct--just trying to debunk the idea that her opinion was not based on legal principles but instead on some sort of racist idea that whites shouldn't be promoted above non-whites.

My Fellow Americans: Well! Audra Shay better not turn her back on Mr. Obama cuz you all know what he will be checking out.

I keep hearing the term far right from the Damocrats so I guess they are actually referring to the Liberals. In order to reach the Conservative side of the Spectrum they must say the Super Far Right.

So, I think it is good news when they continually keep putting down their own Party. So, Radicals keep up the good work. The Real American

As the Young Republicans prepare to elect a woman on Saturday who has compared President Obama to a terrorist and appears to have laughed at a comment calling blacks “koons,” Meghan McCain seeks to stage an intervention.
