The Leftist Politics of Personal Destruction »
Posted By btatman22 7 months ago in Political OpinionRemember “Joe the Plumber”? Private citizen who was skewered by the left’s hate machine? Remember liberals resigning because they illegally went after his personal records to dig up dirt on him? I do. That sort of behavior is all in a day’s work for the new American liberal, and now it is happening again. This time, the left’s politics of personal destruction is focused directly on a firefighter named Frank Ricci. Why is Frank Ricci, private citizen, in the crosshairs of such an insidious machine? What makes him so evil to the left?

Yeah it's obvious by the way they treated Palin that indeed personal destruction is the key to their success. They have no problem going after Infants with downs syndrome, teen age daughters or anything else to completely destroy anyone they feel may threaten their agenda.

Dude all I can advise you is keep your children close at hand. Your wife, any children you have, your dogs, cats, tropical fish, friends, relatives or anyone connected to you will now be fair game.
In the end they will come in and say they were 'justified' doing this to you, they will call you a racist, they will look into your credit rating, they will look at your tax records, they will see if they can find anything you've looked at on the net to discredit you, they will look at every organization that you've ever been associated with, then they will start a news cycle about just how nasty the Republicans that tracts along with this to divert attention from what they are doing.-

This is not about Palin, and we have discussed many times during the campaign how she brought all the criticism on herself. The more she talks, the more foolish she looks. I don't remember a single time when her son or daughter was attacked. It is her own behavior that was under scrutiny. Carrying an infant to rallies at all hours of the night, and her hypocrisy about pre-marital sex say a lot about her priorities as a mother. She didn't need to drag her pregnant daughter into the election campaign and expose her to the media. No sensible mother would have done what she'd done.
Now let's look at Frank Ricci. What kind of dirt is being dug up about him? This is the first time I hear about him personally, and it's not from the leftist media.
FTA: "Frank Ricci is unwittingly thrown into the spotlight and raked over the coals by the liberal media"
Who is raking him over the coals and what kind of lies are they spreading about him? -

Remember Joe McCarthy, J Edgr Hoover? Remember Nixon and how he used the IRS to harass political opponents, how he laughed when he read the FBI files on Martin Luther King compiled by Hoover on his sexual affairs? Remember the "plumbers" he used in the Watergate scandal?
Now we have George W Bush who we now know created this huge intelligence structure to spy on US CITIZENS. Who amassed this mountain of useless information on citizens.
And in the arena of "personal destruction'" how can you overlook the crass attacks of Limbaugh, Coulter, the slimy manipulation of news by Hannity, the heavy handed politics of DeLay, Hastert?
Show us what you claim the Democrats have done other than the inappropriate jokes about Palin's children, which by the way were also generated by the cons against the children of Clintons and the Carters.
How have the Dems launched personal destruction against Palin? She has self-destructed in front of the American press and public. She is manipulative. She puts herself in front of the public by her outrageous comments and deeds, then rails against the press for putting her in the news.
She is a disgusting and persistent publicity hound. -

They are truly a slimy bunch. The only thing the libs know is that the end justify the means. If they don't like your message they will try and destroy the messenger. I hope the American people wake up and see what the left is really all about.

We all got sick and tired of the right's hateful spew, lies, slander, etc. and that's why we now control the white house and congress. Got it? If you righties could ever be civil, maybe we could accept you. But after 8 years of your hatred, we had enough. The American people had enough. And now you are just crying in your beer.

So far I've seen a lot of assertions both in the article and by the people commenting on it that liberals are a nasty bunch, but not a shred of evidence about what they have actually done to this poor Frank Ricci. Broad generalizations are risky even when supported by facts, but without them they are absolutely worthless.

On Friday, citing in an e-mail "Frank Ricci's troubled and litigious work history," the liberal advocacy group People for the American Way drew reporters' attention to Ricci's past. Other advocates for Sotomayor have discreetly urged journalists to pursue similar story lines.
Reply
Specifically, the advocates have zeroed in on an earlier 1995 lawsuit Ricci filed claiming the city of New Haven discriminated against him because he's dyslexic. The advocates cite other Hartford Courant stories from the same era recounting how Ricci was fired by a fire department in Middletown, Conn., allegedly, Ricci said at the time, because of safety concerns he raised.

Joe the Plumber is neither a certified plumber in Ohio, nor is his real name Joe. That has been in the press since before the election, and the words came right from his mouth and his state tax records. He lied to the people about his own situation, why would anyone listen to him about anything else?
Reply
Besides leave it to the Repubs to claim the left and libs are hate-mongers when guys like Rush Limbaugh are promulgating the overthrow of the US Government. On his show, he wanted to have rebels from Honduras come to the United States and take over our government. Yeah, the right-wingers are so pure and innocent.-

Don't talk about things you don't know about david. Most small plumbing companies only have 1 master plumber just like most small surveying companies only have 1 registered land surveyor. Quite often it is a partner and not even the owner of the company. Samuel doesn't need to be a master plumber to own a plumbing company or work in plumbing.

I know what you are thinking;

that someone who runs a sewer pipe into propeller to

The very phrase was invented by clinton to describe
these right-wing rovians.
And you are thinking that those who prop this piece
are giggling as they type in their 'so trues'.
I wish.
The horrible fact is, - they believe it .

joe the plumber.
um, wasn't named Joe.
wasn't a plumber.
and foxnews, rush limbaugh etc all all lied about the meeting between "Joe" and Obama in a feeble attempt to make it into something controversial when it never was, as if "Joe" had it out with Obama and stood up to the future president. when really it was a pleasant exchange and mostly, all "Joe" did was listen.
which means its the right doing the skewering when it comes to joe the plumber. duh.
and as for this freshconservative blog piece...

I recall our former Senator, Norm Coleman. When he changed parties he said that it was because he saw a bumper sticker that said, 'I hate Republicans.' I guess he didn't see all the bumper stickers (after Wellstone's death) that said, 'He's dead, park the bus,' or 'He's dead get over it.' There were others that don't bear repeating.
Reply
The reason Joe the plumber became a celebrity was because Obama stopped and took a lot of time (from his busy campaign schedule) to try and answer his question. Among other things he pointed out that Joe would actually benefit from his proposed tax policies. Unfortunately Joe didn't want to hear it.-

Like the energy tax? Joe's higher cost of doing business if he has to have mandatory health care?
Reply
Haven't you heard that the taxes are going to go up on the "wealthy" - those people who have businesses and are going to have to lay off people so that they can make a living?
I guess there is a solution for all those problems - collect 100% of everyone's pay and then force them to work for the government in work for welfare programs.
Yeah, that'll work.
Sure.

I can understand why Republicans would want to try and occupy the moral high ground again. It was one of the most effective tools they had to convincince their constituents that they were better leaders. I truly symapthize with their painful fall from grace as many of their highest leaders betrayed them one after the other. Now btatman22 is portraying the right as victims of untruths and unjust accuzations in the media. The stratagey is to deflect the spotlight from the failures of their leadership to live by the very standards that they themselves set it their rise to power. Whenever I start to feel sorry for them, I think of the innocent victims in Iraq who are now dead because of the trust we put in Bush/Cheney and many of the outlaws of the last administration. No doubt you all would like to turn the page on the complete failure and criminal activities that you used to nearly destroy America, but I've got news for you. You aren't even close to being off the hook yet.

- you are not looking at real conservatives.
Conservatives are good people.
They have values.
They despise liars, equivocaters and pharisees.
They believe that slander is the breaking of a commandment.
They know what morals are; and that morals are applied chiefly to oneself.
They work to build their nation by helping the weak to become stronger,
and helping the strong to become just
Who, then are these people who keep posting hate rants to propeller?
Beats me.

You guys take the cake. The Republican party is owned and operated by the rich intending to remain rich, and the hell with everyone else. Make millions in insurance, or through pharmaceuticals - convince Joe the Plumber that guaranteed health care is somehow a good thing. Make millions through armaments or war-support businesses - convince Joe the Plumber that sending our young people to be killed in a country that is not a threat to us is somehow a worthwhile and honorable thing. Make billions through stock and other securities manipulations and through the looting of corporations, leading to the losses of millions of blue collar and low end white collar jobs - convince Joe the Plumber that somehow it is un-American for the government to act to restrict this. What is most shameful, however, is your total inability to learn from history. The serfs in Europe may have had to work like slaves for their noble masters, but at least they weren't stupid enough to fool themselves into thinking they liked it.

This is not the World Series where we absolutely hate the other team but which has slowly began to emulate it in our vicious attacks against the "Other Team".
If we all Love the Country so much maybe we should all fight for it like we did in the Past. We could re-implement the Draft that way those who don't have the courage or the Love of Country could see first hand what is at stake.
The younger generation has had it too easy. Daddy and Mommy or in many cases just Mommy have pampered them so much that the boys have become girls, and the girls have become boys. If they want something all they have to do is beg their babysitters for it and in order not to destroy their delicate little minds they are automatically handed whatever they desire. Working for a living is out of the Question for them.

Maybe it will soon become evident to all of them that they could and still can have the same kind of Country it they get together like we used to and make their own Country one they could all be proud of. I don't think that will happen. Do you?
National Health Care is a problem we know how to solve. No Government intervention and extreme Competition which will force cost to go down. No Freebies for minor problems, such as coughs, headaches, sore throats, etc. that is what drug stores are for.

Yeah, it was really empowering and great for Sarah Palin and women everywhere when John McCain trotted her out like a prize show horse. Thinking that picking a female VP from left field would pull women voters to his side in overwhelming numbers is... so flattering to women everywhere.

Joe the Plumber was used (and I mean used in the dirtiest sense) by the Right as a symbol of their mythical middle America. It is unfortunate when people get stuck in the cross hairs of politics, but I didn't notice dear Joe trying very hard to duck for cover.
