    Hey, Pat's pro-life. Unless of course, you're a family planning clinic worker, a Muslim, an illegal alien, a sick person with no insurance, any non Jews living in the middle east, and now, someone who says he'll not vote for Palin. But other than that he's pro-life.

    So, are any comments that are directed toward others to be considered as a joke.
    
    I can think of an actual joke that created an uproar. It was taken seriously, as it should have been. Are you suggesting that it shouldn't have been taken seriously?
    
    You can't arbitrarily jury pick what is or isn't. If it is a joke and not serious, then all are jokes and not serious.

    It did look like he was joking in the clip. Of course, Letterman was joking too. All too often these jokes come back and bite you these days.
