  One could not watch the confirmation hearings and come to the "reverse racism" conclusion. Instead she is showing herself to be articulate and very fair.
  
  But Senator Sessions sure is exposing his racism, though! I find it ironic that the Republicans are so willing to completely alienate the Latino voting base. There antics over Sotomayor will have long term consequences. Just how much this will damage the GOP is yet to be seen, but I'm betting it will be significant.

  Reps should be keeping their powder dry instead of wasting it on Sotomayor. Obama will be able to nominate a real leftie next time if Reps make fools out themselves with baseless attacks on this nominee.

      I agree with you and smithichie that conservatives could save the fight for someone more at odds with their ideology.
      
      But Savage did say, "She said to white people drop dead, based on race you’re not getting anywhere." I don't know where she said anything even approaching that sentiment. (Her opinion in Ricci v. DeStefano--the case in New Haven with the firefighters that was just overturned--was all about how to apply Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, and followed existing legal precedent.)
      
      I also can't see why you'd say that the fact that Savage is Jewish means he can't spout hate...I'm Jewish and can think of a few who do.
