As Obama took office in Jan. 09, there has been an increase in membership in "White hate groups" across the country. This was echoed by the congressional report that came out recently warning of possible terrorist actions by these groups in America. The Republicans have been trying to downplay this, saying that the report is rubbish. It appears that they might be trying to ignore it in hopes that it will grow and flourish within their party.

The truth is far worse. W had to drop the standards so low that bloods, crips, nortenos, surenos and every other misfit is now being trained to go pro and you are paying for it. The little punk who used to harass people on the corner will return in excellent physical shape with excellent weapon skills, self defense training and likely no job and the only game he knows is hustling and gang misconduct. W is gone but his legacy will live on. We still have Vietnam vets being ignored.

"nortenos, surenos and every other misfit"

I don't know what that means where you come from but in New Mexico, a "norteno" is a hispanic from New Mexico. Similarly a "Sureno" is a Hispanic of Mexican ancestry.
Now, if you want to label hispanics with ancestry either north or south of the border as "misfits," you've got some explaining to do.

Racism has always been a problem in the armed forces.
Reply
It was when I was in Nam as well.
You are always going to have the ignorant, self loathing, low life, scum dipping idiots who think; skin color, national origin, religious affiliation, political party, ethnicity, etc. are the right way to judge people.
All that does is show how limited their ability to think and learn in a rational way and manner.
Which with some of the recruits being let in the services I can understand the growing problems.
The very comments on this subject show an accurate rendering of the ways this is viewed.
But the racism is not only white against black, it is also reversed, and includes gender racism, latino, asian, etc.
Quite honestly, I am glad I'm learning to forgive all people for their mistakes. I don't have any room to be a racist, nor a political con man.
Why don't we just call it what it is ???
A bunch of people who think they are right and everyone else not like them are worthless.
Whoooowee !!! The devil is hard at work to spread his hate.-

WE were all affected in Nam to some degree or another by the bigotry and fear. As my son who returned from Iraq last year explained to me, the term "haji" is the word used derogatorily by many of our soldiers to describe the enemy and ANYONE of Arab decent, or even brownish skin tone, be the Iraqis, Afghans, or even Bangladeshis. He shook his head and I knew that he too had used the term more times than he cared to admit.
The stress of war and occupations often invite these attitudes that foster bigotry and it requires vigilance by a well disciplined military to keep it under control. Unfortunately, when blatant racists and neo-nazis are not screened properly by our military and are inducted and placed into positions of authority, racism spreads rapidly. This scenario is an extreme that is intolerable and must be addressed promptly.
One of my main concerns is that there are those politicians here in the U.S. who identify themselves with anti-left wing ideologies and who have right wing constituencies that prefer to look the other way as they feel it is a threat to their careers and popularity.
This kind of partisanship and nationalism is terribly dangerous for any nation. Hopefully this information will began to filter its way more into the mainstream media, as we must avert this phenomenon from escalating. We owe this to our nation and to those who are legitimately trying to serve our nation.

So the military wants to take a Don't ask - Don't tell
Reply
policy toward racists - that would be armed to the teeth racists - but they're not going to drive them out of the service when they discover them - eh? That's rich!
Well, unless their officers are in the club too - their
superiors ought to be watching their backs......24/7.
A resurgence of fragging your immediate commander?
I think it could be easily established that white supremacists
don't have a lot of tolerance to start with - and now they
have an African American Commander in Chief......don't
be surprised when they start goin' rogue!-

Racism is, from the perspective of the Military, a positive. Would it have been as easy for GIs in Vietnam to do what they did had they not seen the Vietnamese as "gooks, slants, slopes?" Would it be as easy to rape, torture and kill Arabs and Afghani if they were not called "Hajjis, camel-jockeys, sand-n!ggers," and so on?

Racism in the military is a facilitator for the mayhem and murder we do. Much easier to kill if you believe your victim is subhuman. -

Fragging wasn't about race so much as it was about the inflexible mind set of commanding officers who could not or would not see the insanity of the situations they continually put us in.
If you are being sent out to die for a mission that brings no help to others, or only inflames the insanity. Well after a while one begins to question the sanity of the leaders. When there is no change, boom someone makes a change happen.
Battlefield justice is administered,at least that is what is consturd of it, by the ones doing the fragging.
You would almost have to be there to understand the desperation behind it all.

The obvious place that racism is up dramatically is in the Dumbocratic party and it's supporters.
Reply
They played the race card to everyone that did not vote for Obama causing whites to support him out of fear of being labeled a racist.
Then blacks voted 98% for Obama simply because he was black.
Anyone that criticizes Obama or his policies is labeled a racist.
If you Dumbocrats wanna see a racist just look in the mirror.-

With commentary of that caliber, we could open this forum up to 9 year old children and expect a more sophisticated level of discourse.
