The pre-trib rapture doctrine allows its subscribers to not worry about polluting the earth or stealing from future generations. All they have to do is spend their remaining pre-rapture time judging all the other groups they've spent a lifetime categorizing and maligning, then they get whisked out of here before anything bad happens. It's a doctrine of personal convenience. Very tempting because it doesn't require any change of behavior.

The doctrine is relatively recent in Christian history, but extra-biblical teaching of Darby and a girl's alleged vision in the 1800's seem a-ok in certain parts of the church as long as they perceive a direct benefit from the new teaching. Deception has a foothold.
