    "I recall driving when the fog was so thick that all I could see was one line at a time of the broken lines in the middle of the road that divided the lanes. But cars would zoom past me at very high speeds which I marvelled at because I wondered how could they see that well in the thick fog?"
    
    They can't, hence the pile-ups.
    
    One night my ex- and I were coming back to Oregon from Minnesota, and we hit a patch of extremely thick fog. He continue driving along at about 60 mph, even though we could only see about 10 feet in front of us at any given moment. I began asking him very nicely to please slow down. He said he didn't want to, it was the middle of the night, what chance was there that anything would be on the road in front of him? I argued, saying that there could be anything on the road but with the fog, he wouldn't be able to see it until it was too late. We argued back and forth for a few minutes, until finally my survival instinct kicked in and I quite literally screamed at him, "SLOW THE FCUK DOWN RIGHT NOW!"
    
    He slowed down, LOL... 8|
