there is one word for Dems who don't back regulation of coal industry terrorists enriching themselves while murdering generations of children. Cowards.
Reply
the republicans, like the science denying brainwashed lemmings who refer to charlatan science published by industry funded propanda terrorists, have only one principle for every issue: make the rich richer.
To accomplish the one principle, they will literally kill the planet, and their own children.-

There is little doubt that pumping huge amounts of co2 and other pollutants into the atmosphere, isn't good for human kind.We might well finish with a planet that is good for trees, flowers and seaweed. For humans the climate, bye and large will be harmful.Apart from climate change, which 95-98% of climate scientists, according to the journal "Nature" agree is being warmed by human activity, atmospheric pollutants are damaging our health.Asthma and other respiratory diseases, are increasing exponentially.

Indeed, increased atmospheric CO2 is also affecting the pH balance of the oceans. As the ocean glows more acidic, less free calcium and other minerals are available for shellfish, mollusks, corals etc. There is more CO2 in the atmosphere now than at any other time in the past 650,000 years.

Starting with Prophy these comments all miss the point of the posted article. Its not about global warming or climate change, its about the Republican party turning like jackals on their own members because they voted their conscience and not the party line. It is a clear example that the Republican party is about money, ideology and total control. A "loyal" Republican dare not have a mind of their own. The party will do the thinking for them. This is truly an un-American attitude.

One element of climate change that needs more attention is the decline of the coral reefs. The CO2 increase in the oceans is killing them off. Many fish species are already severely stressed by overfishing. The death of the coral reefs will kill of 100s of thousands of species and reduce the ability of the oceans to provide a major food source for a growing world population. This is only one part of warming that will contribute to increased world hunger.

For coral reefs, it is a double whammy. Reefs are extremely sensitive to temperature changes. Since they can't run very fast at all (really, it's like they're not even trying), your average acropora cophodactyla is gonna have a real hard time heading for cooler pastures. In addition excess CO2 in the atmosphere means a higher amount of dissolved CO2 in the ocean. Only a certain amount can be 'fixed' by the flora and fauna. Some of the excess is converted into carbonic acid which lowers the pH balance. Higher acidity means lower amounts of calcite and argonite, vital minerals used by coral, mollusks and shellfish.

The Republican National Committee spent about $150,000 on clothing, hair styling, makeup and other "campaign accessories" in September for the McCain campaign after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin joined the ticket as his running mate.
Wonder what they spent on the press
? Way too much I am sure...we need get rid of people like this...this is why we do not have medical and dental, plus vision etc. -

the gop have offered up several alternatives to get healthcare to the poor and those in need without disrupting the healthcare of those who already have it which is the majority of the country. There is no reason to fix that which isnt broken , just fix the broken parts, there are 305 million people in this country, 40 something million are uninsured , many of those are illegals , the answer is to get those insured not to change what is working for the other 260million americans. And what does that even have to do with cap and trade which is the discussion of this article. Its also not Palins wardrobe, she is a non issue, she is not the president, she is fixing to be just another alaskan citizen, so stop worrying about Palin , she will be just fine.

Hey Cal.That money Obama's family just spent on a European holiday was well over a million dollars tax payer money. The money spen't on Palin, was campaign funds.Might I suggest to all the frighten little people who dream of a Palin white house, try this lord don't let me wake up in January 2013 to find there is still an Obama white house.I did and I dreamed Mickey Mouse was well a head of Obama in 2012,and that Goofy had left Biden in the dust

The fact is Americans can lower their carbon footprint to 0 and it will not make any difference , other countries will just produce all that we are not producing. Your crazy if you think that us regulating and taxing carbon producers out of business will do anything more then send them overseas where there they are not taxed and regulated. Unless you are willing to give up electricity in your home , plumbing, all your electronic ****os and your transportation cap and trade will make no difference except to remove what little money you have left and put it directly into government and those invested in carbon coupons pockets. Already business's have relocated overseas because of the tax liabilities in this country and regulations placed upon them and people in the USA have paid the price in loss of jobs. Its not saved anything or anyone and certianly has not saved the evironment and will not ever save it because there is always some other country more than willing to take the money generated by the industry locating in their country and poeple want all the nifty new goodies. So while we become a third world poor country they will thrive and grow and nothing will change about the environment. Are there alternative energy sources that would be better for the environment that could be invented? I am sure there are but taxing those who could create them out of this country is not the way to get them created. Giving tax breaks to companies who do would go much farther, giving tax breaks to companies who do lower their carbons would go farther, adding more taxes will not get the job done and in fact will make things worse. Most parents know easiest way to get a child to do what you want them to do is with rewards , not by beating the child. The best way to get business's to do better is to offer rewards for doing better not by chasing them to another country.

cap and trade will do nothing more than increase the pockets of those who have and hurt those who do not, its not going to fix anything and its not going to save the environment.
