On one side of a downtown street in this eastern Texas town stood about 200 protesters, chanting Black Power and led by a group of New Black Panthers clad in paramilitary outfits and black berets. On the other side of the street stood a couple dozen counter-protesters, a few yelling White power! while some skinheads waved Nazi flags.

    For the sake of God this is not what we want! it must not come to this. All this is, is each side trying to prove to one another who has the power and the meanest.
    Why can't everyone get along and stop this fighting its getting to much out of control. I would not want any of my children feel so much hateward as I have heard and read. This is what the word Hate is and I hate nobody, you may here me get mad and say things but as far as hateing I'am sorry I can not hate no matter who the person is, I can dislkie their ways but it do not mean I have to hate anyone.

      A better ending would have been that every racist pos who was either yelling white or black power was shot dead on the spot.

      The article stated state police in riot gear separated the groups, breaking up a standoff that ended with two arrests and no injuries.
