I'd love to see a single-payer plan, jovial, but the unfortunate truth is that if you think the opposition is freaking out over the current proposal, their heads would explode if single-payer were on the table.

What I don't understand is this ... how is it possible that these Insurance companies can operate in such a despicable manner ... ? ... refusing to insure people just because they have a pre-existing condition ... ? ... dropping customers when they make a claim ... ? ... Dragging out payments for months and months ... ? ...
I mean ... isn't JUSTICE part of the Moral Fiber of what America stands for?
Or better said .... SHOULDN'T Justice be part of the Moral Fiber that we stand for?

I really think that the single payer plan is the one that I would like to see get implemented. At least the issue is being addressed and hopefully something will be in place pretty soon. A lot of us are going broke since we've lost our health insurance. Washington shouldn't be allowed a break until this is settled. Those making this decision aren't without their health coverage so they will drag their feet.

Any attempt at health care reform by liberals will end up like Britain and Canada. Terrible care, doctors and nurses going to other countries to make money, months or years to wait for treatments. All while democrats in congress get premium private care at our expense.

Why couldn't we have a basic care single payer system where everyone got a reasonable level of medical care. Then let the insurance companies sell premium care policies that would cover things such as tummy tucks, cosmetic surgeries and maybe even premium care hospitals and then those who could afford it would be able to get what they THINK they deserve, and the insurance companies could make their money from the wealthy.

I think the health insurance and drug companies have a overwhelming dominance on Washington, and Obama is just going along to get along. Single payer is not only the best option, it's the only option that will both control costs and cover everyone.

When this,the last free nation on earth accepts single payer there will so much confusion that we may see doctors,nurses,and others in the health care industry,just walk away.Kick insurance companies to the curb,wow why not auto mechanics,Grocers,and of course drug companies don't want granny,and gramps to live past their allotted time in this brave new world of socialism.Step up abortions to the limit,that is, Obama's limit which is open throttle.We have less than twenty million uninsured who need help,the rest are illegals,or yuppies who prefer not to get it.Lets take care of the needy,not the greedy.

I've never heard of a national issue where everyone asked agreed with solutions to resolving it. So his one time physician doesn't agree. That's one man's opinion. I'm sure many physicians will disagree with him. And many will disagree with them. Oh well. You still gotta do the best you can and not worry about pleasing everyone. Doing nothing for sixty years worked out well for us, right?

These schemes have already been tried many times on smaller scales. Look at TennCare tried in Tennessee about 10 years ago. It almost bankrupted the state and services had to be cut back to prevent raising taxes. The program is probably gone by now for all I know. Funny thing is one of the main administrators of this TennCare is NOW IN OBAMA'S HEALTH CARE TEAM! Hello?
The soon people flush the idea this is actually about providing health care, the sooner the real goal will become clear.
Step one: create govt plan
Step two: operate govt plan at loss to undercut private insurance prices
Step three: Employers dump their plans and start using the Obama-care since its cheaper
Step four: Use "health" and "safety" as hooks to run everyone's lives! Once you hook onto the govt teat, they control you. You want to drive >50 miles a day? No, that's not safe and you are increasing everyone's health cost. You want to buy more than 5 lbs of meat a week? Forget it - too much per person. Too much artery clogging.
They can't change the constitution to limit your freedom so they think they've found another end-around. Fight! Fight! Fight! Your freedom is at stake.-

you're right. and we're paying for them already as well, collectively.
with a public option or single payer, those costs will go down since people won't have to do things ike go to the emergency room for care, and they can go to the doctor for preventative health measures, whihc saves us a lot of money in the long run.

these "schemes" are being run on huge scales, with enitre countires.
IN FACT, every other western industrialized nation besdes the US has either a public option or universal healthcare. the list of those countries is long and respectable. and none of those countires would trade their system for ours. not one.
truth is, the public option works. and we have many many examples of this.
