Just recently, the team headed-up by Navico Australia’s Dave Silva, together with Col Cordingley and Gaye Silva, won Champion Mixed Team and third overall from a field of 60 competitors at the National Barramundi Fishing Competition on the Daly River (NT). On top of that, Dave took out champion angler.
All bias aside, Dave said the definition and functionality of the new Lowrance HDS was the best of any unit he had ever used.
"The HDS’s built-in broadband sounder and clearer, crisper screens let me read the water better,” Dave said.
“I particularly like the way the system lets me run the sounder and GPS simultaneously… it makes trolling runs a breeze!”
The revolutionary HDS series of multi-function displays combines built-in award-winning Lowrance Broadband Sounder™ technology, innovative chartplotting and intuitive operation in an attractive new case design. Fully expandable, the HDS also accommodates Ethernet radar and NMEA2000 networking for fuel, engine and boat-operations management solutions.

Available in fully sunlight-viewable HDS5 (12.7cm), HDS7 (16.3cm), HDS8 (21.3cm) and HDS10 (26.4cm) screen sizes, in several configurations, the Lowrance HDS series is the ideal solution for boaters who require an easily networked or standalone electronics package.
The first multi-function system to bring together true high-definition sonar, charting and radar in a best-in-class display and interface, the flexible HDS series also protects against obsolescence to ensure future expansion capability for next-generation Lowrance technologies.
