One thing additionally we need to realize.
There are those among us that will pit people against other people if it is profitable for them to do so. These people are the cancers of our world society.
We can apply a cure.
But to do so we must unite Morally and Ethically. Moral and ethical people live by Rules mutually applicable. In the United States We call it our Justice System as determined by our Constitution.
Does our Government currently operate by the Justice System authorized by our Founding Fathers? A system they called the Constitution?
There is a cure available. -

For me, this video is talking about an altruistic outlook and way of life,equaling harmony and unity for humanity.The opposite way,that is evident in the World today,is negative egoism,or the me,me,me outlook,which equals broken societies and ultimately wars.I think the World would be a far better place,if we were to share resources and have common aims.This would also lead to happier individuals in the long run.The best example I can think of,was the kibbutz movement in Israel.

Unfortunately, when there exists a shortage of 'life's essentials' (money, water, oil etc..) human's have a nasty history of playing 'might makes right' and in fact are playing it to this very day.

Great post Mik. Because we are selfish individually and collectively, we will never collectively get along. The mentality is, preserve me over preserve others. As long as we are selfish, we have no hope of getting along. Here are some ways we're selfish.

We lie to ourselves...
I can't afford health insurance, but can't quit smoking either.
I can't afford to hire another employee, but just have to go on two vacations this year.
I can't spend three minutes with a lonely elderly man next door, but can't miss desperate housewives.
I can't offer my accounting talents to this non-profit because I can get paid over here doing the same thing.
We are selfish with our resources...
We are selfish with our talents...
We are selfish with our time...
We are also selfishly lied to....
The Democrats want to take all your money and give it to the selfish.
The Republicans want to make all the money and give nothing to those who are hurting.
The end of the world is near, so buy this product, or jump off a bridge, or whatever.
You suck if you are not a part of this group.
And for those who are waiting for God to step in and fix all this...He's waiting on you to choose to help. As a believer and as a father myself, I can't make my son get along with his brother, he has to make that choice.

Today I was musing about the MSM chattering about the Bluedog Democrats and the impending doom of the Healthcare reform.
Seems like some democrats don't think that the Reform Bill is all that good. 100% of the Republicans claim to be against the bill "for the good of America".
If you really think about it, who best represents the thinking of America? - The Democrats as a body or the Republicans as a body?
We can't get along as long as there is someone who doesn't want to get along. As to the Kibbutzim, who's land was taken so that that place could be established? I'll bet those two groups don't get along. And who's fault would that be?
