The man (Coburn) makes sense. I remember the good old days when conservatives and liberals could have a hearty discussion and compromise their way into a solution..

Our government has been taken hostage by overly influental and powerful lobbyists.
Unfortunately the Bush administration was a key enabler in the highest and most recent stages of the destruction of what our founding fathers sought..Never mind THEM,
our democracy needs a full remodeling. -

Tom Coburn is a loon.

He added amendments to the healthcare reform bill in committee to prevent money for healthcare reform from being used to fund fashion shows and build football stadiums. They were clearly unnecesary amendments meant only to slow the bill's movement by wasting time with debates and votes on those amendments.
Coburn also says, according to this article:
"What we need to do is properly educate about the infection rates and the effectiveness of methods of prevention."
The funny thing is, according to the link below, Coburn supported federal funding for abstinence-only sex education over traditional family planning education.

Coburn wanted to spend money on curricula that has been proven to be ineffective in reducing STDs among kids.
But arguing for increased spending on abstinence shouldn't surprise anyone. After all, Coburn is one of the residents at the infamous House on C Street, the residence operated by the cult-like "Fellowship," a secretive organization that believes its followers should take control of U.S. government to implement radical "Christian law," in much the same way fundamentalist Muslims have implemented Islamic law in some countries.

Lets just say that he IS a loon. Much like Ron Paul.. his faults do not erase his principles on fiscal responsibility.

Read the numbers, they are real, that is government waste at its fines. Did any of you actually take the time to read the article?
Government is touting health care reform as consuming vast ammounts of money and resources in this country, yet the Federal government does the exact same thing.
Now we want the government to tell everyone else what is proper, what is needed, what is right, and what is best?
Its insane. And Liberals perpetuate these sorts of things and come crying when people don't support government welfare and "government knows best" legislation.
Fix the corruption in government, then fix the corruption in private health insurance, then get together and come up with a viable solution that does not require more control from the government in our lives.
You guys should read about the British 21 years old man who died because he was denied a liver transplant because he had a history of alcohol abuse which may have contributed to his liver failing.
Do you think this would be supported by the leftist liberal bleeding hearts in America? Because its the only way that government health care can work, plain and simple.
The Government decides whether or not you should get treatment. And we demonize insurance companies who deny people care for preexisting conditions.
Its hypocrisy! Both are wrong.
