There are a lot of things that bother me about this story, but what bothers me the most is the tasering of the pregnant woman. I think tasering ought to be a weapon of last resort or outlawed entirely. Does any one have any data on what happens to an unborn fetus when 50,000 volts is sent through a pregnant woman's body. Maybe there's some data in the jails of third world countries or in the killing fields of Cambodia. Someone needs to stop this kind of torture that is being imposed on civilians in America.

Apparently there are a lot of people who have never had their ass kicked. If you had you would realize this isn't a game. The police are not there to get their ass kicked by a bunch of drunk, disorderly people. It's not about being fair....it's about getting a job done and moving on to the next group of idiots. Then making sure you get home safe to your family.

What the police do is not a game, it is not a big laughing joke, and the first time you get your ass kicked you make sure it doesn't happen again. Don't comment on something when you've never done the job and don't know what your talking about.
Step up to the plate and apply to a cop. Maybe you'll understand!! Maybe you'll see the job isn't always pretty and perfect.

My, my! Such a pitiful display of machismo by the swineherd cops!

I hope they felt good tasering an elderly man, and a defenseless pregnant woman who showed that they never resisted, nor acted with hostility...but the big bad police officers felt it was so necessary to crash into a party, and even scare the poor kids that were in there as that family were in their own property have a party for a special event. Disgusting and I daresay racially motivated.

"The police are out of control. People need to speak up."

That's BS and far too much of a generalization. The way you write this you are saying ALL police are out of control. Considering that there are tens of thousands of encounters everyday between police and the public these incidents are actually quite rare. We would be a nation of complete anarchy without police control. Could you imagine if people could individually determine their speed or how much they could really drink and still drive? And very few jobs call for you to put your life on the line everyday. Nor do they require you to observe crimes like the little girl who was shot in the head four times by her stepmothers estranged husband in my area recently. The cops that arrived on the scene are still in therapy.
And I guarantee you when a serial killer was on the loose in my locale a few weeks ago the police became a very welcome sight. We take far too much for granted in this country. Prosecute the h-ll out of the police when they step out of line. Nothing worse than the abuse of authority. But give most of them credit for the job they do on a daily basis.

We have not heard all the evidence but this is another incident that could probably been handled differently. It is noteworthy that the victims are hispanic and the cops are white. And what little I saw of the backyard baptism party video didn't seem to be a wild, out of control party that needed excessive force to subdue. And did the language barrier between the hispanics and cops play into this incident?

Sometimes when things like this happen, there can be a legitimate excuse. But at other times, like the deaf and mentally deficient black man, the legitimate excuse goes out the window when after finding out that he didn't respond to the officers because he couldn't hear them and was scared because he thought they were devil's disciples, they still arrested him.

The video didn't show the man to be out of control. It was a party with kids, and of course there will be noise. It's not as though it were in the middle of the night and keeping people from sleeping. Honestly, I just don't see anything on the video that indicates a scenario where a tazer would be appropriate. With all the officers they sent, all they had to do was walk the man out of the area. This seems over the top to me.

This is crazy, you couldve possibly killed a grandfather, and to top it off a pregnant women an her child! They always use that disorderly conduct bullsh*t just to have an excuse to tase people. Theres steps that should be taken before it gets to that level. This is unreal.

Correct, nothing wrong with an attitude correction, and how better than to taser that G.D. cantankerous grandpa, and taser the ingrate loudmouthed kids.

Attitude adjustment, makes the whole world look brand new.
Attitude adjustment, it's right for me and you.
Everybody could use a good tasering, serves them right.

Police have been out of control for some time now. People keep making excuses for them but it has to stop. They have a bad mentality going into these situations. Everything is life or death according to them. Yes, they do face life and death situations 'occasionally' but they need to be trained to deal with the public in simple situations like this and the Crowley case. Both these men were in their own home/property and were treated like violent criminals. The police protect their own and trumped up charges in both cases. Luckily in this case they have video tape. We, the public, have to stop being intimidated by the cops and stand up for our rights. They are out of control.

So interesting that when President Obama points out that the policeman in the Gates incident was acting stupidly everyone goes ballistic and jibe him for criticizing the police and yet in an incident like this you are all cop haters!!!

I'm not going to make judgment because I wasn't there and don't know what happened, but I will tell you this to the people who don't know "what harm can an elderly man and pregnant woman do?" There are some (not all) people who hide behind "handicaps" and think they can act anyway they feel like and there should be no punishment because of said handicap. I have seen pregnant women get belligerent and try to start fights with people and then want to call police if you hit them back. Women like that are disgusting, and that is a form of child abuse because you can injure your baby in a fight. I have seen elderly people go ballistic in stores. But of course people always feel sorry for the pregnant woman or elderly man, or guy in the wheelchair with no legs instead of finding out the whole story. It is how we are trained, to see these people as "delicate" when they may be anything but. If it were a young man with tattoos and a mohawk who got tased we would believe he had it coming, even if he did nothing and the cop just didn't like him. I think we should wait to see if the cop was being threatened by these people or he was just a jerk before we "demand blood" don't you?

I don't care what you say about pregnant women. I think tasering them is crossing the line. This was a baptism party for chrissakes not a drug bust. I think that this situation could have been handled differently and it should have.
