How is it that Albania, not exactly a bastion of democracy and freedom can propose a gay marriage law on a national level, and the United States has DOMA? The United States claims to be the land of the free, but consider how much restriction is put on our freedoms.

So, a country that is predominately Muslim and (until very recently) once strongly authoritarian is more progressive than a country founded in these words:
