    Pennsylvania lacks protection for gays and lesbians at the state level of government. However, some counties do provide protection that has not yet been challenged in Commonwealth Court. Allegheny, Philadelphia, and Erie counties all have human relations board and ordinances which protect people based on sexual and gender identity. We need more than just untested county ordinances to protect us. It is for that reason, that I applaud the actions of a few Senators who are in the process of changing the law for all in Pennsylvania to be protected at home, at work, and at school.
