Posted By Progressive 5 months ago in Health & FitnessWASHINGTON - As recently as two weeks ago it might not have looked like much of a victory. Everyone's suddenly allergic to letting the government into health care, but Paul Krugman has news: The government is already knee-deep in health care, he writes in the New York Times. It's called Medicare, and without it almost no one over 65 would be covered. You can also thank tax subsidies and government mandates for the fact that your employer-provided health care works at all. Obama’s just proposing some tweaks to make decent insurance available to everyone. “It’s as American as, well, Medicare.”

Peggy Noonan goes one step further in the Wall Street Journal, imagining what FDR would tell Obama to do. Just fix Medicare, the ghost advises. Talk it up every day, clear out the waste and fraud. “Then, at the end, get your Democratic majorities to make one little change—it’s now open to all. Do it in the dead of night if you have to, you've got the votes.” Then rename it “The National Health Service,” and presto, America has a single-payer system.

Have you found out if Obama's new health experiment will cover injuries sustained to your back while bowing to him?

Government involvement doesn’t accommodate certain things. Like errors. Or common sense.
And that’s the real irony of liberals and their desire for government to “help.” Liberals say that they truly care about people. Or snail darters. Or baby seals. Or Gaia. And they want to use the government to make it all better. Like the government is your mommy taking care of your skint knee.
That’s why the idea to let government run things — car companies, banks, health care — is a bad idea.
Your mommy cares. Government regulations don’t care.

Tip to American Public: If you hate liberal policy ideas, stop voting for Democrats. It confuses them. Republicans would really be in trouble if Democrats sucked marginally less. Course, if they sucked less, they wouldn’t be Democrats.

If the health bill passed right now it would include all of Mexico in health care coverage... contact your elected officials if you think I'm talking stupid. The bill covers all Mexicans (undocumented workers in Lib talk) in this country, or those that will come in needing free health care!!
