Henry Louis Gates Jr. mulls moving over death threats »
Posted By tehranchik 4 months, 3 weeks ago in NewsCHILMARK - Black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. has received numerous death threats since he accused a white officer of racially profiling him in a controversial arrest last month, prompting Harvard University officials to suggest he consider moving, the professor told a crowd yesterday.
Gates is planning a documentary from both the perspective of police and people who have been victims of racial profiling so “Americans can understand that you can have two equally valid perceptions of the same event.”

Yeah? I hate people who make death threats. I dislike it when it happens to people like the professor as well as the lady who made the 9/11 call. Both are equally as heinous and worthy of news coverage.

Some only think the cals made to the professor are news worthy,,,,,,, why is that?

Really Klarissa? Now why would they talk about one and not the other?

Could it be because of ‘hate thought” and in hater crime?
I find it interesting that to some something done to one group is considered a hate crime but the same thing done to others is considered a hate crime.
Let’s do a non-scientific poll and see which is considered more egregious and a ‘hate’ crime.
For those that care to, answer the questions of which you consider hate crimes that should have a higher level of sentencing over the others.

2 Three white men beat up a lone Hispanic man.
3 Three white men beat up a lone Asian man.

Just put down the numbers you consider hate crimes that deserve special treatment.
IMO they all rise to the same level of hate.

I grew up with guys like Gates all over the place. Preachers, activists, politicians all making a living by raising race issues. For a while it had a purpose, but after about 1990 it got old and transparent.

We live in a post-racial society. Any time you treat fair & square with people of opposite race you get the same in return, unless you are dealing with a psychopath. The Gates's and the Sharptons who make their way in the world by spouting that same old crapola are just slowing down progress.
Gates may have gotten a threat or two. He should buy himself a twelve ga. pump or a deer rifle like Malcom X in the famous picture. He should stand his ground until this blows over, forget about his profiling publicity scam and get a real job.-

There is still racism and bigotry at every level of American society.
Reply
There is racism at federal level, state level, and local level.
And I'm talking about policy not about what this or that official has said, although there is plenty of that kind of racism as well.
I wonder why you picked 1990 as the inception of post-racial society though, after all Mississippi finally ratified 13th Amendment in March of 1995.
That being said I'm not saying that it's as bad as it used to be in the 50s or 60s or 70s, but US still has a long road ahead to get to post-racial society.

Lucia Whalen another victim of Gates/Obama
Posted 1 week 1 day ago by Beo
I have been reading some of the blogs on the Gates/Crowley/Obama debacle and one of the things that struck me was the vicious attacks on Lucia Whalen, the woman who called in the possible burglary of the Gate"s home.
She has been called every name under the sun from racist b***ch to stupid. This woman had to retain the services of a lawyer in order to protect herself from the press and the public. This is the price she has to pay for being a good citizen and watching out for her fellow man.
She never uttered a syllable about the race of the two men and when prompted by the dispatcher, she said that she wasn't sure, but one of the them could have been hispanic.
This woman works at Harvard and people were calling to have her fired from her job. Her name was released and she was harrassed.
Someone owes this woman an apology.
