With Hezbollah's build up of rockets and Israels daily use of Lebanon's air space, both sides are ignoring UN resolutions.

I have no doubt that a war would suit both sides. It would suit Israel's new right wing coalition,in that they could portray themselves as victims,on one hand, but tough on the other hand for domestic consumption
Hezbollah would try and claim they would be the protectors of Lebanese Muslims and Palestinians.
Neither side seem to have a lot of interest in the plight of the ordinary civilian.Israel will use the deaths of Israeli civilians,as a reason to invade Southern Lebanon, with disproportionate might, killing many Lebanese civilians on route.
Hezbollah will consider each Israeli civilian death as a triumph. So yet another middle Eastern slaughter of civilians is on the cards.I bet the USA or the UK won't be sending in any peacekeepers!!!-

If Hezbollah actually followed treaties, Israel wouldn't cross into Lebanese airspace. I'm afraid you are correct, there will be more civilians killed again.

As for peacekeepers, I think it's time we let both sides have at it. Until both sides love their children more than killing each other, peace will never come to that region. I am pro-Israeli but I'm tired of always getting pulled in to help finance the rebuilding of the Arab mud huts.
I have a better idea. We know Iran is supplying Hezbollah. Why not charge fees on every shipment of oil from their terminals and have that fee go towards the rebuilding of the communities Israel will flatten. If they provide the weapons, they should provide the cleanup. Perhaps, a part of that fee should also go for the damage the terrorists have done to Israel. In the big picture, cut off the oil money for Iran and you end their reign of terror.

Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, warned that if the southern suburbs of Beirut were bombed as they were in the last war, he would strike back against Tel Aviv, the largest Israeli city.

Does this sound like the NSC has control?
It is much better that we practice what we do here with discussions rather than depend on the US government... -

"the militant group better armed than ever."

Gee, with all those U.N. "peacekeepers" in place, somehow the "militant group" became better armed than ever.
When will Israel wake up and admit that, as far as Jews are concerned, the U.N. is as much a terrorist organization as Hezbollah?
Neg away, supporters of terrorism against Jews and Israel.-

I think it's time to evict the UN and create a real organization that supports the rights and freedoms of its original founding. The UN, was supposed to promote democracy and freedoms. They attack Israel for excessive force when striking back but forget that they were attacked first. The UN has never won a war, police action or mitigated a peace treaty that didn't cost thousands of American's lives and billions of our tax dollars.

If we're supposed to house this group, pay for this group, along with fighting and dying for this group, it better serve our us better.
It's time for the UN to go and our friends in Israel to let lose the dogs of war. If Hezbola, Alqueda, the PLO or any other Islamic terrorist group wants a fight, bring it on. You haven't won a fight in over 500 years and I don't see that changing. Israel should be able to march from the Red Sea to India with very little trouble. They're some of the best troops in the world and car bombs have little effect on tanks.

There are only 2 ways of stopping this fight. First, cut off their money supply. Remove Iran's funding and there is a chance things could change. The other, find a way for the Islamic world to love their children more than they love killing Jews. In either case, I'm afraid it won't happen without huge loses.

I hope the US doesn't get involved. Israel, with very good reason, does not trust President Obama. If they feel they're being pressured into a deal, they will strike with a force never seen before. If the USA tries to cut off weapons, Israel has treaties with South Africa and India, weapons would continue to be supplied. -

The Arabs have convinced themselves that the U.S. is the only reason they haven't been able to follow their religious teachings and exterminate the Jews. If the U.S. cuts off arms deals, the bloodthirsty and murderous Arabs will see their chance and attack before Israel has a chance to get weapons from either India or South Africa.
Reply
If that happens, the world will stand by and leeringly watch as the Jews get slaughtered. The world hoped for that in 1948, 1967, and 1973. It didn't work out for them then, and won't work out for them in the future. -

If Syria and Iran cut of monies and weapons to Hezbollah, the USA and Europe should do likewise to Israel. There are already too many weapons in the area. I dislike Hamas and Hezbollah,I also dislike the many over-reactions of The Israeli Defense Force. All of my sympathy goes to the ordinary people.I have many Israeli friends who feel as I do.They wisj to bring their kids up in peace.
