There were no lobbyist-funded buses in the parking lot of Mardela Middle and High School on Tuesday evening, and the hundreds of Eastern Maryland residents who packed the school’s auditorium loudly refuted the notion that their anger over the Democrats’ health care reform plans is “manufactured.” Political Punch Blog

sounds like more angry mob stuff. even more strange when you read that people preferred to not have one on one meetings with their rep but would rather just shout at him anonymously.

if you really wanted answers, you could get them much easier in a one on one format, but most of these people turned down the chance. why is that?

People are nuts at these meetings. Here is some good news. Check out WWW.SLICKBUDGET.COM/CASH4CLUNKERS.HTML to see the cars that will be the best deals using the cash back from the dealers and the clunkers money. I am picking my car up tomorrow if this passes tonight. You can figure out when you can get yours as well.

"They were rude! Oh, they were behaving terribly," one said, calling it a "disgrace to our community."
Said another of the anger, which sounded very much to her like what she hears on Fox News and conservative talk radio, "If it's not manufactured, they're brainwashed."

Notice how they want this poor Rep. to change his vote but are jeering and generally making the guys life -ell! Someone used the term "mob rule", this is an excellent example. They also hung him in effigy! Is this your idea of the future of politics? Who do they think they are, G-8 protesters?

Uh, this isn't exactly a positive story for your "cause". I think the point he was making about no buses is that there are plenty of angry white males in this heavily conservative county and their party is out of power and they can't deal with it. How shocking! They're mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. Geez, I wonder how many of them voted for Obama?

This has been a good week for your side in the propaganda war. You have managed to instill fear in the confused. For your efforts we will likely continue to be the only civilized nation without government supported healthcare. I had to tell someone today who has no insurance and cannot get insurance due to a pre-existing condition that this bill is dead. National Healthcare and Healthcare reform are both likely dead. Wonder what costs will look like by the time this comes back around? Everyone will scatter from the carcass of this bill. Then the maggots will move in for the finish. Unregulated profits for years to come. No one will soon propose Healthcare reform again, it took 15+ years this time. And the uninsured like my friend are once again f-cked. I can hear you chuckling now! The political capital expended is enormous when you put yourself out in front of such a bill. What would be the benefit to Obama of bearing such a hit? Once again none of your t-rds have ever been able to explain a motive for your strange CT's regarding Obama's intentions.

The day it is official that this bill is dead I hope you go to your favorite insurance lobbyist hangout in Georgetown and join them for a toast. The champagne should be flowing! Better dress the part or they might not share...Gucci loafers with no socks, custom tailored khaki's, and of course the requisite blue blazer. Just a guess that none of you would fit in well. Might be a good idea to bring your RNC credentials. They're not going to share with just anybody. They are not their brothers keepers afterall.

Personally I think everyones identification should be checked at the door to make sure they actually live in the district. This is so disgusting that people actually act this way. I write my Senator or House member when I don't like what is going on. If they don't do what I want, I don't vote for them again. You know majority rules.

I didn't vote for Obama. And after all this I'm glad I didn't. You can go to defendyourhealthcare.us, and download the 1000+ bill. If you don't like right wingers, ignore the woman who has the site, and go directly to Senate and House bills. And click on the biggest bill. You can check the pages people are listing for yourselves. Also the New York Times reports that the White House has cut a behind-the-scenes deal with drug industry lobbyists to prevent Congress from squeezing more than $80 billion in cost savings from Big Pharma. Where were the television cameras when White House aides were working out this agreement with the lobbyists? Obama suggested -- that is, promised -- on the campaign trail when he called for C-SPAN to broadcast health care legislation negotiations.

To the contrary, Obama has engaged in behind-closed-doors talks with the lobbyists he once and often excoriated. In the face of a growing-in-intensity attack on health care reform from the right -- which includes the charge that the legislation under construction in Congress will lead to Medicare doctors telling grannies to opt for an early death (page 425 of the healthcare bill)-- perhaps this sort of traditional deal-cutting is the best way for Obama to achieve reform..

After you check it out FOR YOURSELF, make a decision. If you don't like it, there is a site where you can sign a petition at http://fleming.house.gov that would make every member of Congress who signs the bill also go onto the plan, which at this point no elected government offical or employee has to do. John Fleming is also a cosponsor of another bill that empowers the patient first. And here's another thing the Congress has done. The House is ordering up three Gulfstream jets to fly Pentagon and other top government officials -- including members of Congress -- around the globe in conditions far cushier than coach class. The almost $200 million appropriation to buy three C-37 jets, the military version of the Gulfstream 550, is buried in a $636 billion Pentagon budget passed by the House last week. It's not as fancy as the version sold to private customers, but still is a very nice ride. Bleh. Doesn anyone, anywhere really have any GOOD news about the government?
