I think one of the biggest misteaks bands make is that after losing one of their key members of that band they don't move on.

Queen was one of the greatest bands ever with Freddy Mercury.
They would need to find someone with the same creative energetic drive & carisma that he brought to the band.
Its not enought to have someone who can just sing Freddy's songs.
But they need someone who can write great songs and have a creative chemistry with the others in the group.
Even then it will not be the same as it was with Freddy.
And for that reason their popularity won't be the same.
Sure there will be those that come to see the remaining members of the band.
Hear the old songs.
And I'm sure it will sound great!
But I can't imagine the feeling being the same for the remaining members, as it was when they were playing with their old band mate.
Can't imagine the magic still being there for them.
And the guy that has to fill in for Freddy Mercury shoes as show man.
Will never be Freddy Mercury.
Just someone living in his shadow.
I'm sure Paul Rodgers felt that, and he is great a entertainer in his our right.
It would be better for the remaining members to sing their Queen songs under a different name.Start a new band, start fresh.
Not put the burden on their new frontman to live in Freddy's shadow.
But to allow him make his own mark.
