Giants make Eli Manning highest-paid quarterback in NFL, but he's not best »

Eli Manning is about to become the highest-paid player in NFL history, which seems a bit out of whack because, Super Bowl title or not, he's no better than the NFL's fifth-best quarterback going into the 2009 season.

Unbelievable. He is far from the best QB in the NFL. His brother Peyton beats him by a mile. There is far too much money thrown around in pro sports. No wonder the average fan can't afford the price of tickets anymore.

I used to have season tickets to the Bucs but stopped going when every game was sold out and we could watch in the comfort of our home rather than sweating our balls off at the field. Tampa is excruciatingly hot during most of the season and the idiots didn't build a shaded dome or anything when they built the new stadium a few years back. Go figure. But now, with a totally new inexperienced coach and a bunch of new players...tickets aren't selling. Looks like we're gonna be blacked out for the home games this year. Damn!

What the two brothers should do is to figure out their percentage worth of their combined salaries and donate the remainder to starting the "Manning Fund" to whatever cause appropriate, like keeping kids off the streets in football camps for example. YAWN .. now it's time to wake up out of this dream.

That's generally the case for NYC, isn't it? Who could successfully argue anymore that, for example, Goldman Sachs has the best of the best, even though they get those uber-big bonuses and salaries...
