Not many Americans know that in his homeland, Marty was the British equivalent of Woody Allen... namely an accomplished writer and performer. Marty's seminal BBC series laid the foundation for "Monty Python" as many of its members worked on his writing staff.
Marty should never be forgotten and the full true nature of his incredible talent should forever stay on our radar. He was much more than "Aye-Gore."
I'm sharing some rarities in my possession that Marty gave me back in the seventies. Here's an undertaker sketch that also features the late, great Spike Milligan.

Please don't boo too loudly if I state that US "humor", with a very few exceptions, including Woody Allen and Robin Williams and some of Rowan and Martin, for me usually has as much impact and thrill as a wet lettuce..

Somehow today I stumbled on this piece which offers a brilliant 2-fer: Marty Feldman and Spike Milligan both seminal influences on the unique phenomenon of absurd British comedy..
Of course the 60's brought a new dimension with Monty Python and all that that involved..
Lets just say that certain states of mind shared with close friends were conducive to the enjoyment of dead parrot humour.-
