President Obama's call for the Senate to ratify a hemispheric small-firearms treaty dominated his last visit to Mexico, but in the four months since, both the treaty pledge and the drug violence that prompted it have dropped off the radar - a victim of Congress' full schedule and gun politics.

      The NRA supports the right of Mexican drug dealers to bear arms. And, naturally, the Congress agrees.

      It's nice to see that Canada and Mexico think we are moving away from free trade. Unfortunately, that is not what is happening. My dear brothers from the north and south, you have been UNDERBID. How's it feel?

      And besides, if Mexico's political and law enforcement problems are the fault of guns from the U.S., why don't we have those same problems here, only worse? It must be something else. Like, maybe Mexico is run by criminals?

      The real truth is that most of the guns going into Mexico are from China.
