Well, as I spend my days doing counseling, I'm often struck by the increasing lonliness and sense of disconnection people feel ... from one another within the marriage, the larger family, the neighborhood, community, and so on. I'm also struck by how we're Facebooking, Tweeting, blogging, and emailing at a feverish pitch. However, the electronic "connections" don't seem to fill the void; and the $100's of dollars in "connection fees" don't bring a warm sense of belonging!

So I should sign off and go talk to people face to face! Join a group, try a new activity, take a walk through the neighborhood and say hello to people, participate in a fund raiser activity, consider joining a fraternal organization (even formerly secret one's that now advertise on TV because it's getting difficult to find people who will find the time) ...
