We're supposed to have the best democracy in the world. As it stands, we're one burning tire away from Haiti. We have to dial this health care debate back down.

i don't know where to begin talking about this rambling piece.

    note to the writer:
clearly, you can smell it, you just can't put it into words.
this administration smells like a banana republic because banana republics are ineffective governance too.

your thesis falls apart when you try and cull the 'right wing' from the herd as the cause of the anger. if that were so, it'd be only the 20% you weren't reaching anyway. when its 50% or more, the only ones who's rapt attention you ARE keeping are the leftish/left of center and the true lefty. and evidently, the leftish are pretty wobbly on this too.

white guy anger? nah. watching expensive pointless government is where the anger is coming from. no matter how you try and spin it.

It's amazing how creative the BSers are at the Huffington Post. How much crap they can produce could probably solve our energy problems.

that's what the Caribu Plumber rallies showed us, showed everyone the the world over who could watch their TV machines. The GOP is the party of red faced angry uneducated white racists. Not even one black or hispanic face.

Don't believe me? Look at the footage. It looks like a KKK rally. Bunch of fat rural morons shouting nutter slogans. These people are loyal fans, like football fans, except their "team" is the party of jim crow cons, fronting for the 1 percenters, the party of unquenchable greed.

The people you see on TV are racist crackers, dreaming of holding the whip.

Much more than health care is at stake. After all Obama's "plan" is crippled before it starts and was conditioned by "special interests" forcing single payer to be taken off the table.

What we really face is a choice between guns and butter. Better said, between democracy and perpetual war/totalitarianism. Only the rhetoric has changed with Obama. The imperialistic wet dreams of our corrupt elite are continuing apace with Obama. Indeed, by cementing in the perversions of the Bush administration, Obama may do more long term damage to America than Bush.

Honest conservatives know this and honest liberals should know it too. The "angry white man" myth is how we are kept distracted, dumb and docile.

The American Conservative: Perpetual War for Perpetual War
    http://www.propeller.com/story/2009/08/10/the-amer...

U.S. Army Col. Timothy R. Reese says it’s time for the U.S. to “declare victory” in Iraq and “go home.” It was time to declare victory and go home in January 2007, when the Bush administration decided to ignore the recommendations of the Iraq Study Group and charged off on its cockamamie “surge” strategy.

...The original stated objective of the surge was political reconciliation in Iraq. By September 2007, when it was clear that the political objective was not in sight, Gen. David Petraeus pulled a bait-and-switch and announced that the military objectives of the surge were being met. Petraeus hagiographer Thomas E. Ricks slipped Freudian in February 2009 when he confessed that Petraeus’s goal was never to end the Iraq conflict but to trick Congress and the American public into extending it indefinitely by achieving short-term results though bribing Iraq’s militias.

Lasting military presence. That’s been the objective of the neoconservatives all along. In their September 2009 manifesto Rebuilding America’s Defenses Cheney’s pals at the infamous Project for the New American Century argued, “While the unresolved conflict with Iraq provides the immediate justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein.” The neocons’ Pax Americana vision has translated into the Pentagon’s “long war,” a strategy that does not seek to win wars but rather to create a sequel to the Cold War in which Islamofacism substitutes for communism and puny Iran, whose defense budget is less than one percent of ours, replaces the Soviet juggernaut.

It's not only racists it's bigoted towards men alone,,,,,,, liberals hate men in general especially if they are white men.

How many women have you seen in the protests? About 50%? You see women, men, and minorities in these protests yet all the liberals see is white men.

Liberal bigots are the ruling class now, they think since they won one presidential election in 8 years they can bring about their 'form' of hope and change,,,,,, which includes lambasting white guys.

You hope and changers can kiss my butt,,,,, your power will be short lived and you are the ones afraid, that's why you are in attack mode, since you see that even with all the voting power on the hill you can't silence citizens and keep them from voicing their Constitutional right of dissent of your policies.

More puk nonsense where up is down and down is up

as in ...puks are angry ...no libs are angry...no you are....no you are ( I'm the rubber and you're the glue ctc..)

      typical and extremely childish.

Just tell me one thing... is there actually a legitimate reason that that puks feel disrupting these town hall discussions is a viable option . Or is the option to get a disproportionate amount of press coverage thru ignorance.

This whole article just makes me sad. It is so full of racism, guilt and divisiveness. Why does a person who disagrees with policies of a politician obviously have to be racist? Why is it that only white men can be angry over this administration? Why is it that citizens are being marginalized, and compartmentalized simply for exercising their right to disagree with the policies of an administration? Why is it wrong for ANYONE to voice their opposition to a policy/bill that they do not want. Why is that veiled racism? Why is wanting a country that is the best country in the world to continue on the same path wrong? People die trying to come to this country, because we have freedom, we are allowed to dislike the policies of our president, we are allowed to voice those opinions, and we don't have to fear our government. If we take away this right, if we stop all debate what do we have left?
