The longer the advocates of marriage equality wait before going to the polls, the more likely they will have a verdict in the Olson/Boies case. If the courts overturn Prop 8, then the move to the ballot box is moot. However, even if they do not, the advocates will need a considerable amount of money to make another run at overturning Prop 8. The longer they wait, the more organized and better financed the campaign will be.

Which paradoxially works the same for both sides. I was just hearing today how one of the groups is in the hole for upwards of Six million and they had to cut Love Won Out. We want to strike when we'll have the most money and when they have the least so we can stop their ads.

Although personally I think we should start taking a page out of their books and making really hardcore scare tactics ads like "The people who Oppose Prop (w/e it'll be called) hate everybody. They want to roll back your civil rights. They oppose interracial marriage, and they want all non-whites to be slaves. Etc etc etc" And use an arm of our funding that just takes every one of their commurcials and points out "the truth" behind it. Unfortunately we cannot win the war without using the Soundbite tactic. People don't respond as well to reasoned thought than they do to pathos arguments.

Prop 8 is the will of the people and the homosexuals can't stand the fact that the majority of people in this country want marriage left alone. This institution has remained the same for thousands of years so why is less than 1% of the population trying to change it??? Hate for heterosexuals????

Gays have parents, brothers, sisters, children, uncles, aunts, and cousins, too. And gays have co-workers and other friends who care. Therefore, your "one percent formula" is way off, don't you think?. If you had even a few gay friends or co-workers, they would answer your questions for you, without you needing to come onto the Internet to guess about the possible motives of gays. -

Gay people do not hate straight people. As for the institution of marriage, for thousands of years, it was restricted to the upper class. In some parts of the world, men were encouraged to have multiple wives. King David, in the bible, had hundreds of wives. Not to be outdone, his son had 700 wives and 300 concubines. So, if marriage can consist of having multiple partners according to your definition of going back thousands of years, why is polygamy outlawed today? Did the definition of marriage change somehow since bible days?

Furthermore, the US is not a Christian theocracy. Instead, we rely on fundamental fairness and equality. The people should never have had a vote in the first place. Using that standard, then whites should have been allowed to vote to decide if blacks could marry. That absurdity proves my point. Reductio ad absurdem. -
