Palin even said her Down's Syndrome child would be a target. The claim is being repeated, or rather screamed, by angry groups invading town hall meetings that congresspeople have organized to discuss health care reform. How on earth can the outright lie that health-care reform will lead to the euthanasia of the elderly be accepted by anyone, even by those on the far anti-Obama right?

Over thirty years ago, my family helped start the myth leading to the present bizarre turn of events. From the mid 1970s to mid 1980s I was an activist on the far right, an evangelical, and a Republican. I quit the movement by the late 1980s. (Disclosure: I'm now a supporter of President Obama and health care reform.) To understand what is happening today in town hall meetings invaded by angry mobs convinced that their representatives are part of a conspiracy to force the elderly to forgo care, you have to understand what we the founders of the pro-life movement set in motion. -

It is not going to work. The only violence so far has been incited by the Union thugs. YOU are trying to get things to escalate.
All your lies about anti-Obama people being bused in by organized groups are lies. Democrats are the ones busing their people in.

It takes two sides to tango, and so far nobody is backing down. At this point it doesn't matter who started it, who's right and who's wrong. Rather than continuing this stand off its time to start talking to each other, in a civilized manner. If we don't, we will just drag the whole country down, all by ourselves, while the middle east looks on in glee. When it comes right down to it, we are turning out to be our own worst enemy, and in the end we will destroy ourselves, so that someone else can just come in and pick over the pieces, as has allready started, with planeloads of chinese coming in and picking up cheap real estate. -

I've seen the ones around here that were put on by Republicans, and they weren't angry, loud, or disrespectful.
Maybe people just want their "Representatives" to actually listen to them, and not spout "lines" given to them by their party, and not talk on their phones while they are supposed to be listening to their constituents. Or maybe its just that these "representatives" have no interest in what their constituents have to say because they know they are going to vote party line, because well, they need the DNC money for re-election.

Why do Democrats want to kill us? I think this is a question a lot of people are asking. Democrats do seem very determined to take all of our money through “stimulus” packages and then destroy health care so we all die, but why?

It could be because Democrats just don’t like Americans, but it’s a big leap from simply not liking Americans to actively trying to rob and kill them.
