"The irony is that Gladney’s situation underscores the vital need for health care reform. He was recently laid off and lost his insurance (14,000 Americans suffer a similar fate each day). Because he has no affordable health care option available, Gladney is now soliciting donations to pay his medical expenses:"-

So you are supporting thugs hurting him. They should be the ones paying for this and not him.

You are such a stupid person for pushing this story. If he had been left alone he would not have been injured. You rant about people using their voices but when your side uses violence you just applaud the result. That is very sad. Why does the left love to hear about bad things happening to conservatives? -

FTA: UPDATE... Kenneth Gladney has health insurance through his wife.

Jovial makes the mistake of posting a lie from a reporter that was written on 8/9/09. The reporter was called on her lie and now her story has an "UPDATE" at the bottom.
He is not laid off but unemployed.
He was beaten and called names, allegedly. It's very telling that jovial focuses on the lies in this matter and doesn't care about the allegations of violence against Mr. Gladney. The allegations of violence are much better supported than the lies you are helping to spread. -

EUTHANASIA is illegal in every state except Oregon. The decision isn't made by just one person several doctors and heath professionals are involved in the decision. Euthanasia means someone else makes the decision if you are to die. A doctor will never make a decision to cause a patient's death. You simply do not have your facts straight. Pallative care is comfort care. When a person is terminal and death is imminent the doctor talks directly to the patient and the patient decides if they want pallative care or curative care. When a person is near death curative care is often more painful and purposeless. Pallative care is designed to reduce pain and suffering. Counseling for end of life care and living wills are necessary because only YOU can make that decision. Responsible people are not fearful of talking about their end of life care. If you don't talk about this and you end up on death's bed and can't talk for yourself you leave these decisions in the hands of your next of kin. Doctors will never make that decision. However, health corps are very willing to give you information about pallative care, because they prefer not to pay for curative care when death is imminent. And insuranc corps do refuse to pay for curative care. They are corps operating for profit your death is just a cost of doing business. They do not operate with the same ethics and professinoal standards as doctors.

You are talking about yourself in my estimation. Think about the fact that LIBERAL THUGS attacked him and caused his injuries. Think about the fact that Obama has told many lies about his SINGLE PAYER health care plan. Barney Frank slipped up and admitted on camera that the design of the bill is to have single payer in a few years.
Reply
Obama told a group that doctors treating diabetics do not care about them because they are not getting paid enough and just wait for the #30,000 for doing an amputation. Three lies in one statement. Doctors reall care about their patients. Surgeons get about $700 to $900 per amputation. The doctor treating diabetics does not do the surgery. Three lies in one statement.
Death plan is done as follows and has happened already in parts of the country with state based programs. Instead of safe and effective it will be safe and cost effective. So Spadecaller the older you get the less cost effective your treatment becomes. This comes from Dashles book about health care and is patterned from the British model. He states that elderly people have to live with the problems that come with aging. So they will dispense pain killers and not much else the older you get. This is their plan for YOUR health care. In the state of Washington a woman with Cancer was denied chemotherapy that would likely cure her and the state told her that they would not provide provide the medicine but instead comfort medicine and euthanasia discussion and treatment with her doctor. -

It was his own spokesman who made the plea on his behalf, citing lack of insurance. Now that there's been attention paid to the irony of such a plea the story has changed. I wonder which version is true. Maybe he is insured and it's inadequate to cover all costs. Maybe he isn't insured, but had enough sense to be embarrassed at his own ironic situation. Maybe he really is insured and that plea was a complete misstatement made by his own spokesperson. However, regardless of the details, the plea was made before it was retracted so the irony remains and he's fast becoming the poster child for insurance reform.

Here's the real series of events that happened.
Reply
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboa...
1. The video begins and a black man in a blue shirt is on the ground. This is an SEIU supporter. He seems to be the same man who at 25 secs in, its saying "where's my peeps" and holding his shoulder. He seems to be the injured party in this encounter. This man is apparently Elston Cowan, a minister and union supporter.
2. It's very hard to see this, but there is a second man on the ground, This is Gladney. You see his hand on the curb and he gets up very quickly. No one is kicking or punching him. In fact a woman is a grey shirt is standing calmly next to him. She gets uncalm in a second.
3.Gladney starts moving towards the man on the ground. In fact a woman in a white jacket holding a clipboard, holds his arm back.
4. A guy with a ponytail who is a looks like Union supporter stands over the man in the blue shirt. It seems like he is preventing any further attacks on the man. Significantly, he makes no move towards Gladney, even after Gladney goes down a second time. No kicks, no punches, he doesn't even lay hands on the guy. That is, he was in a defensive position, protecting the man on the ground
5. As Gladney is being held back by the woman and the man above is protecting the first man on the ground, a white SEIU supporter in a blue ballcap comes in and yanks Gladney back away from the man on the ground. Gladney and this man both tumble. It's significant that he is white. It's significant that he doesn't seem involved in the original scuffle.
6. Again, Gladney spends about a second on the floor and is not kicked, punched or touched.
7. The woman in the white coat who held Gladney's arm, steps in front of the man in the ball cap. In both sequences, she seems to be preventing further escalation.
8. We're about ten seconds in something interesting occurred. The calm woman in the grey shirt turns and yells at the guy in the ballcap. I believe she is the one saying "*******."-

9. About 12 secs in the man in a white polo starts screaming at the man in the ballcap, "You attacked him."
Reply
Points 8 and 9 are very significant. These two people both react very strongly to Gladney being pulled to the ground, but do not care about the first man on the ground. The video shows no punching, no kicking and no brutal beating. If that had ocurred, it would have to have happened before the video begins. Yet, these two people are not very upset in the beginning of the video. Also, there is a lot of yelling, but nothing like a crowd watching a man be brutally kicked in the head.
11 Let's jump ahead to about 1:15 in, Gladney has found his way back to video camera and the cameraman asks what happened.
Gladney: That guy attacked me.
Camerman: Which guy?
Gladney: The black guy.
So the black guy on the floor attacked him first as part of a brutal beating, but these two people get most upset at Gladney being yanked down. WHY? I submit that the video catches the most violent action that occurred against Gladney. No punching, no kicks, the worst he suffered was a tumble to the ground, that he gets up from quickly.
Once Gladney tumbles an interesting thing happens. The man in the white polo starts making his case. Not reacting like someone witnessing a melee, or in fact involved in a melee, but like acting for the camera. Why do I say involved? Because if we watch his actions closely we see right after the video begins, he comes over to the man on the ground
12.Right after the video begins, we see him come over and lays his hands on him. It's very brief, but it seems like he pulls the man by his shoulder.
13.After a pause of a few seconds, at 12 seconds in The man in the white polo starts making his case. "You attacked that guy.....UNINTELLIGIBLE...you're going to jail."
14. 00:45
White Polo: You attacked that guy for nothing
Ball Cap: No, I didn't attack him for nothing. He hit Elston. Elston's a damn minister idiot.
....
White Polo: Two of you guys attacked that poor guy.
Ball Cap: No we didn't. He attacked a minister.
So the as it happens evidence is the Union folks claim Gadney started it. (could be self-serving, could be he didn't see how it started, etc, however, he did not witness Gadney getting a brutal beating. -

15.The woman in the white coat from earlier and a man in tan shirt seem to be trying to determine what happened. Police are on their way. They are talking to Gladney, he does not mentioning, punching or kicking the quote is "What the hell is wrong with you? Why did you hit me, why did you hit my hand.
Reply
16. Gladney: Where the police at?
(sounds like Elston): Is he going to protect me? Cmon' now
17. Gladney (walking towards camera, low voice): I'm going to beat the **** of out of that guy, if I catch him again
18. When Gladney is talking to the cameraman, in the background white polo is yelling Socialist, deadbeats, sit around and betray the country.
19. Around two minutes in some weird stuff happens and the camera doesn't capture it. Someone yells, he just hit her, he just hit her. Then a woman yells "Did you just hit me? Did you just hit me?" This woman is immediately handcuffed by the police. IT'S THE SAME WOMAN IN THE GREY SHIRT who yelled *******. She was standing next to the guy with the ponytail, real close. As the police lead her way she says "He just hit me! They got it on tape!" It would truly strange behavior he the man with the ponytail did hit her, because he didn't react violently before, so why would he now with cops all over the place?
This also lends credence to the fact these people were performing for the camera. Also the fact that the cop immediately handcuffed her, leads me to believe he saw what happened and the WOMAN HIT the guy she accused.
2:35 Gladney: This man here, he attacked me.
Ball Cap says, I did not attack you. You Attacked Elston. I pulled you off Elston.
The cops then handcuff Ball Cap Man who says; "But I didn't attack him what are you doing?....I didn't attack him I took him off Elston."
None of the video suggests a brutal beating. Gladney and his attorney seem to be making this worse by the day. They went on two fox news interviews the day after this happen and Gladney seem fine. The day after that Gladney showed up to a Tea Party protest in a wheelchair and claimed he was too weak to speak.

His situation DOES NOT underscores the vital need for health care reform; it underscores the vital need for criminal prosecution from the top down.
Seriously is your point that if you disagree with Obama he will send his Goons to beat you up?
What’s next?
Is Obama going to send his Union Goons to your local mom and pop store to collect that “weekly” insurance money?

I may not be a medical doctor, but I know fraud when I see it. He was put in the wheelchair and told not to speak, because his lawyer didn't want him to ruin his case. The lawyer is obviously an ambulance chaser. I know if i was hurt enough to be in a wheelchair, I wouldn't be on Foxnews the next day apparently alright and then less than 24 hours later show up at a tea party rally asking for donations on my medical bill in a wheelchair. And then claiming I couldn't speak because I was too weak.

Natasha Richardson dies at 45
Richardson was injured at Mont Tremblant, a luxury resort in Canada. The actress was taking a lesson on a beginner's run near the bottom of the ski area and was not wearing a helmet when she had what first appeared to be a minor accident.
“She initially reported that she was well, but soon started to complain of a headache. Hours after the fall”.
Did ya get that Jovial? She was able to walk away
“The injury was followed by a lucid interval, when Richardson seemed to be fine and was able to talk and act normally.”
“Paramedics and an ambulance which initially responded to the accident were told they were not needed and left”
“Refusing medical attention, she returned to her hotel room and about three hours later was taken to a local hospital in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts”
Did ya get that Jovial?
The following day she was flown to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where she died.
Cause of death was an "epidural hematoma” due to blunt impact to the head", and her death was ruled an accident.
Did ya get that Jovial? At first she seemed fine, able to walk away, because she didn’t get proper medical treatment in CANADA she is now dead! -

Then he MUST be faking.
Based on what?
You’re not a doctor.
I provided a HIGH profile case where someone was injured, seemed fine, walked off after the accident and later DIED due to injuries suffered in that accident.
Do you accept the fact that someone can be seriously injured, even if a first they don’t appear to be?

Gee injest, a friend of mine, very healthy(early 50's), fell off of his bike while training to ride in the MS 150 here in Texas. He broke his hip, and was operated on and all seemed well. He was lucid as ever, just needed to recover enough to walk.

That was on a Monday. On the Friday of that week they had to operate again due to complications(can you read infection?) and he died.
Using your logic, maybe if he had been in Canada he would have lived.

I can't understand the reaction about the "gouvernment controlling....". some people argue.
Those same people don't argue with the "patriot act", but accept it.
If there is one law that gives control to the gouvernment, then it is that "patriot act". That act gave/gives the gouvernment, in certain area's, more control that the communist regimes had.
Secondly, how can any one argue that private insurance is more effective:
They are there primly NOT to serve the insured, but TO MAKE money/benefit for the company it's ceo's (including some old politician's) and shareholders.
People complain about "state run" insurance refusing you care... The private companies don't????? Wake up: how many are not refused payment because e.g. not recognized care/protocol or medication, previous medical history, to expensive, and over the limit, wrong doctor or hospital (talking about free choice of hospital and doctor....), etc.....

Try to watch other news programs than "Fox News"
You have no idea what you're talking about.
The (West, meaning not ex communist) European countries have a much better health system than the US.
It's a performing health system open to ALL, rich and poor (including unemployed, ..... oh my God, that's bad.....), even if you don't have a cent, and where you don't have to sell your livelihood.
Like everything in live, it's not 100% perfect, and each (West) European country has it's own system some better some slightly less.
It's based on a notion we in Europe call "solidarity" and "compassion".
It's the opposite of the "all for me" "f++k" the others.
By the way, I'm not poor, but upper middle class and self employed.
I travel a lot/year, including at least twice a year to the US (including yearly skying in Aspen Co)
I do love the US and (most) of their people. I do know a lot of US citizens (from East coast to West coast).
At the same time, I'm happy to be European and live in Europe, as I do notice how many Americans have no (real) idea of live in the rest of the world.
