I am really getting tired of this "Blame it on Bush" crap. Dems are in control and they need to take responsibility for something.
Reply
GW had no part in the disasterous stimulus package or this health care debacle. It's possible that Herbert Hoover may be partially to blame but definitely not GW. -

Still blaming Bush huh? The economy has only gotten worse since Obama bin Laden took office. That makes it his fault. His stimulus package has failed. His health care reform is not promising. His poll numbers are down. Bush was better than this.

You know ... I realize no one is supposed to mention 'he who shall remain nameless' ... but it's kind of difficult NOT to.
Reply
I mean, come on ... let's be honest ... this isn't the Old Soviet Union ... where ... if someone fails utterly ... or breaks from the party line ... we erase him from photos ... and are not permitted to mention his name.
We, as a people, live with the stunning failures of the Bush Administration every day ... from the Iraq War ... from his depleting the surplus ... to nationalizing the banks on October 13, 2008 ...
Commodore, you only make yourself appear weak when you refuse to accept the here and now.
--------------------------------------------------...
On a side note ... I've often wondered about your posts. They seem very ... petulant and whiny. ... ... ... The other day ... I considered the root source of this. ... ... ... I thought about your name ... and I considered that ... you were a "Commodore" of toy boats and little rubber duckies in your bubble bath.
Is that it?

I have read the article. It is a carefully argued piece of work,
Reply
full of facts and figures.
To respond to such an in-depth analysis in the way that is done
by JohnBoyRed and Commodore1 is just a clear illustration of
the intellectual emptiness of the argument coming from the anti-Obama
posters: do not bother me with facts, I know that Obama is bad and so
I know that everything he does is bad.
Maybe there is someone out there who would care to read the article
and argue against it based on alternative but similarly careful
analysis?-

Well said, but the three lockstepping conpuppets who are responding travel in a pack, and are mindless zombies, loyality to party before country.
Reply
You can't persuade or reason with these conzombies. Some of them are agents of smear merchant campaigns, anti-environmentalists for big coal getting paid to lie, but most of them are just loyal hyenas, and the pack of racist white suprema-cysts is all they have ever known.
Another big chunk of the concowards posting lie after lie after attack on reason recieved their brainwashing in the military, and continue in their mega churches. Somehow, christianity is percieved by these warprofiteers and public dole lifers as a crusade, as if their savior, the jewish liberal jesus who advocated for the poor and sick and railed against the totalitarian government and was tourtured to death by same, was a conservative, gay bashing, warmongering, racist.

Total garbage. The Democrats stonewalled fixing the GSE's by charging lying on the part of the regulator and saying it was an attempt to kill the GSE's. Then Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac went down as the housing bubble they were helping to cause crashed. The mortgage backed papers they were selling as investment to financial institutions went into the tank taking the economy along with them. But this is all Bush's fault. This gets very tiresome blaming Bush for everything. I guess 50 years from now the Democrats will blame Bush for everything bad then.

Obama's fake stimulus package that he promised would keep the unemployment from reaching 8% by 2010 is an obvious failure. His out of control spending is sucking the money out of the economy so small businesses and many large ones can't get the short term loans the have to have to stay in business. There are reports in the news every so often of a small company closing their doors while they have a large amount of orders but can't get the money to create the goods. Obama at his best. The Democrat tax and SPEND. Carter's example brought us stagflation and Obama is following his plan.-

Thank you Endoscopy for illustrating my point.

"Total garbage." Now there is good intellectual argument if I ever so one.
How about taking a statement or two from the original article and showing what is
wrong with it. And by showing I do not mean just declaring that it is wrong.
The author gave some facts and figures, can you contour them? -

The Republican mantra of Deregulate deregulate is what lead to this meltdown. First they did it to the savings and loans during the Reagan years and then they started on the banks. Why are we surprised at the outcome? And yes I know that Bill Clinton (your favorite democrat villain) was the one who signed the bill, but who crafted it?

The blame goes back farther than Bush. But Bartlett is right in that Bush dropped the ball and failed to apply conservative principles in key areas like Medicare and Social Security and in spending in general
Reply
The left probably thinks this guy approves of Obama's plans but Bartlett is the architect of Trickle-Down economics.
He's saying that Bush made it possible for Obama to come in and make things worse.
You lefties really need to read past the headlines.-

Well rbiii, what we are really seeing is that there is not much intelligence left in the GOP and that the "crazies" are being manipulated by the corrupt right-wing oligarchs. How long before the crazies escape the oligarch's control (a scenario the world has seen before)?

Sick Heil! The Hilterizing of Obama
http://www.propeller.com/story/2009/08/14/sick-hei...
... So why then, do they keep saying it? It is this question that I've been pondering for the past few days. What could possibly be the purpose of making an argument that has so little intellectual validity; so little indeed that it can be easily shot down by the average 12th grade European history student (who, it should be noted, would have as much education as either Limbaugh or Hannity)? What would be the value, symbolically speaking, of putting forth on protest signs this Obama=Hitler meme, and visually representing that meme, straight down to the little mustache, side-swept hairdo and swastika adornment?
And then it struck me. This analogy, as absurd as it is factually, and as offensive as it is historically, makes almost perfect sense politically, to a movement that is trying desperately to create a groundswell of support behind the notion that white people are the new victims of massive discrimination, the new victims of the Obama era: the ones who don't get picked first for the Supreme Court, and who can no longer take for granted their hegemonic power. And that is precisely the kind of movement they are trying to build, what with their equally facile rantings that white men, according to Limbaugh, are being sent to the "back of the bus" under Obama, because he literally hates white people, and that white men are now experiencing, to hear Pat Buchanan tell it, "exactly what black folks" experienced during the days of Jim Crow. Within a politics of white resentment and white victimology, the Hitler meme works. After all, Hitler was not just a fascist, but is understood to have been a racial fascist: one whose dictatorial and murderous schemes were directed at a distinctly racialized "other." So to make the black man atop the U.S. political system into Hitler, is to plant the idea in white minds that he too will be a racial fascist. And if that is the case, the question is quite obviously begged, which race will he be coming for? Ah yes, white man, see? Now are you scared?
By playing upon white fears--fears of a black President with a funny name, fears of a country that within about 30 years will no longer be majority white, fears of the inability to take for granted that our Leave-it-to-Beaver, Norman Rockwell, Boy Scout-approved national narrative will continue to predominate--the right hopes to prove resurgent, and the GOP hopes to remain a living entity.

Amazing to me, is why cons aren't trying to beat progressives to green technology, like the cons of europe.

It's as if they value ignorance and parth loyality more than profit and growth and sustainable policy.
What am I saying,,,,,as if...
These are people, who decide to destroy the lives of their own children, by destroying the environment, just to make money the same way they always have.
Conservative means one thing: conserve the money and power in the hands that hold them now. Extremism in the name of greed is no vice.

There is no argument, there are no facts or figures that will change anything that republicans believe about anything that this administration does because the only thing the can see is there rage and hate. They are blinded by hate and rage. This is no longer America to them. The election was a fraud. A black man can't possibly be president. All there talk about patriotism, America, family values, etc are just empty words and mean nothing. They are as un-american as you can be. Why can't they see that.

Know why faux noise ratings are high, the 15 percenters watch it all day and nothing else, CNN and MSNBC get many more viewers, but for short burst of time. Intelligent educated people don't stare at the idiot box much. But, for birthers, deathers and creationist morons, faux noise is mothers milk, and they nurse at the teat all day.
