    Roosie, you're too reasonable. Any minute the police haters will jump in here and claim the officer should be hung at dawn in the town square, not knowing even half of the facts in the incident. I would add that there are usually three sides to a story like this. The third one is the actual truth. Since each side see's the incident from their own perspective there is a little bias in their accounts. Seldom, if ever, do all three sides match exactly.

      So you're defending tasering for unarrestable infractions??? The video was pretty clear as to what went on, regardles off what was spoken, or unspoken. What if the driver didn't speak english?
      
      Her "speeding" (which was dismissed, along with other charges) was inconsequential, and probably less of a public hazard than secondhand smoke.
      
      I don't hate police, but I hate stupid people who abuse power and act as if they are the arm of justice, as opposed to a jury of one's peers.

    Exactly. There was a time when police now only demanded, but deserved respect.
    
    It went from someone keeping peace and order then, to overarmed paramilitaries now. No one likes an occupation.

      There was also a time when if you said the wrong thing to a police officer for any reason you were beaten on and nobody said a thing about it other that "he/she deserved it." That time wasn't so very long ago.
