Republicans Lose, Conservatives Win »
Posted By juslen 4 months, 2 weeks ago in Political OpinionAccording to the latest Gallup Polls, only 41% of Americans view themselves as "leaning right" while 48% "lean left." That is consistent with the numbers comparing pure Republicans to Democrats by the same 7 point margin.
You would think with the Democratic majority in congress along with a Democratic president that these numbers would reflect a harsh reality for Republicans. And you would be correct, but perhaps not in the way you might imagine. Another poll shows that close to 39% of Americans consider themselves to be Conservative, and nearly 20.5% view themselves as being Liberals.

Over the years, it’s been confusing. Both parties have had conservatives, liberals, and moderates. And still do. I know, it’s hard to believe there are any conservative Democrats, but truth be told, there are.

Well just like the Republican party there are those who would be considered Democrats if they lived in the right part of the country. Often its about the votes and the special interest, but every now and then you get a Democrat who is a Fiscal Conservative.

That is where the Conservative aspect comes in. Me for instance.. I am not religious, there are certain things where I am socially Liberals. But that is why you would call me a Libertarian in many respects.
For me, Fiscal Conservatism is the key. A Liberal will take from you, A Conservative may judge you on moral grounds. I would rather be seen as a sinner than have someone reach into my pockets and dictate my life.
I respect the beliefs of others and I feel they are an important part of this country. But the Liberal belief, that of Socialism, Redistribution of Wealth and big government is more frightening than any moral or philosophical beliefs.
And what scares me is "Redistribution Of Health"
If anyone uses that word, make sure to give me credit even if someone else has already said it, lol.
