Senator Coburn Empathizes with Violent Protesters »
Posted By Spadecaller 5 months, 3 weeks ago in Political OpinionMeet the Press - Sunday: Instead of denouncing threats of violence against our elected government, Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) claims the government "earned" these violent threats.. Considering the 168 Americans who died in the Oklahoma bombing by Timothy McVay, this is certainly a disturbing opinion to share on national TV.

After 8 years of a Republican administration and 6 years of a Republican Congress, the American people voted them out of office and elected both a Democratic President and a Democratic Congress. Despite Coburn’s claims that the threats of violence have been “earned” by angry citizens who feel they have lost control of their government, the fact is they have indeed lost representation; that is what they earned. The voters had enough of their failed policies.

There is no justification for inciting violence. Obama haters and sour grapes are poor excuses for violence. The blood of innocent Americans will be on the hands of these leaders that continue to fan the flames of extremism.-

There has been no major difference in the two major parties for decades. You fail to see the the decades of dismal governing by both parties and the outcome of an ever growing central government.

This present government on both sides is totally focused on how they can control the people and be the authority that gets credit for the outcome. This has been coming since the Civil War opened the rift between the States and the US government, they are equals, not as the States presently function as a lesser partner.
Last time hundreds of thousands died to try and keep the US government in its rightful place, as the defender of the STATES and THE PEOPLE, not as the ruler of both. Unfortunately they were not successful in reining in the US government and forcing it to follow the Constitution in all its endeavours. Taken almost 150 years for them to slowly usurp the powers of the States, now they seem hell bent on ramming the last bits of control through.
Education, Welfare, Social Security, FDIC, National Banking Regulations, Unemployment, Tax Code discriminations, Federal Reserve Bank , thousands of regulations from all the Departments, thousand page bills with no debate and closed door committee meetings, but a few reasons they should question what they are doing and its impact.

Time and again, Republican elected representatives have been given the opportunity to denounce the alarming violent tone political debate has recently taken.
Reply
And each time, they have avoided condemning violent rhetoric.
We can all argue 'til we're blue in the face about whether there are valid reasons for Americans to be upset at our elected representatives, but it is indisputable that condoning violent discontent is dangerous.
When will Republican officials stop playing to fear, anger and bloodlust? -

I couldn't get your link to the video to come up. But that's all right, I saw and heard Sen. Coburn's remarks on Meet the Press as well as several times on local TV.
For you to imply that Sen. Coburn is advocating violence is pure partisan ********, but it is what most of us have come to expect from you.
Understanding why the American people are angry and feeling that the anger is deserved is a far cry from inciting violence and shows at least one politician in DC is in touch with the common voter.
By the way, get a clue, the American people are angry at the way our government is operating, that includes you liberal types, too.-

The GOP politicians leave it up to their talking heads on Fox and Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Savage, O'Reilly to spread their fear tactics and incite people to violence. As far as I'm concerned, until they disavow violence, then they are condoning it! Not reporting or stopping a crime that you know is about to be or has been committed can be construed in a court of law as being an accessory to that crime! That perfectly describes the GOP!

MR. GREGORY said: "All right. But let’s talk about the tone of the debate. There have been death threats against members of Congress, there are Nazi references to members of Congress and to the president. Here are some of the images. The president being called a Nazi, his reform effort being called Nazi-like, referring to Nazi Germany, members of Congress being called the same. And then there was this image this week outside of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, a town hall event that the president had, this man with a gun strapped to his leg held that sign, 'It is time to water the tree of liberty.' It was a reference to that famous Thomas Jefferson quote, 'The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.' That has become a motto for violence against the government. Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma City bomber, had that very quote on his shirt the day of the bombing of the Murrah building when 168 people were killed."
American who support those that justify this kind of violent rhetoric are opening the door to more domestic terrorism.-
