Dispatch from Barney Frank's Town Hall Meeting in Dartmouth »
Posted By ameliog 4 months ago in Political OpinionThe scene was familiar to anyone in tune with cable news: flocks of anti-government foot soldiers in open-toed sandals and knee-high tube socks yelling things like: “No Obama Care.” They’re everyday constituents – the butcher, the baker, and the crystal meth maker – just much fouler in all regards.

Great article:

"I knew that poor and working class Americans were surfacing in droves to rival their best interests, but it’s especially sad to see them up close. They’re clearly blinded by ignorance and fear; why else would they fight on behalf of greedy insurance companies? Why else would they oppose tax hikes for people making more than $325,000 a year? Judging by their clothes, jewelry, and cars, it’s unlikely that many people there have ever earned substantial six-figure salaries. Come to think of it, of course big bank jerks off$ who benefit from healthcare inaction didn’t show to battle Barney. After all, they have an army of white trash circus clowns, ideologues, and talk radio wannabes who are glad and willing to execute their dirty work."
Yeah, like the nutjobs here on propeller like Klarissa, PC25, etc.
You go Barney! It's time somebody told these idiots off. But you know where they get their delusional thoughts....LIMBAUGH, BECK, SAVAGE, et al....the harbingers of hate, misinformation, and propaganda. These horrible individuals are tearing this country down and the weak minded sheeple that listen to them are buying into their bull$hit! -

It takes Republicans and Insurance companies to bus in their constituents to town hall meeting to scream and holler and disrupt health care reform meetings so the public will not learn any meaningful information about the bill. And that's what I say.

Let me get this straight.

We're going to pass a health care plan written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, signed by a president that also hasn't read it, and who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's nearly broke.
What possibly could go wrong? -

I like how the guy wrote the article before the event took place. He was expecting craziness from the right and instead saw only craziness from the left - LaRouche supporters.

The author tried to cover for his preconceived notions by adding such journalistic gems as:
"There was a disappointing lack of rednecks, but Lyndon LaRouche supporters picked up the crazy slack."
And:
"Beside LaRouche drones, there weren’t too many full-blown Neanderthals"
Through it all, he supposedly kept an open mind. -
