Posted By btatman22 3 months, 1 week ago in Political OpinionLast year, when Michelle Obama declared, "America is a mean country," I disagreed. As the white mom of multi-racial children, I knew our country had its share of race problems, but I never would have called America "mean."
Apparently, Michelle's "mean America" comment was simply premonitory. Last year, I was a sweet, naïve, middle class, white Italian-American businesswoman and single mother. This year, I'm a racist, Brooks-Brothers'-suit-wearing, rabid, Nazi, right-wing, political terrorist wacko. How did that happen? And when did owning a Brooks Brothers' suit become a bad thing?

The left only protects the speech of those parroting their own beliefs or the talking points released by the DNC. Anyone else is accused of hate speech. When they protested Reagan, Bush or Bush, it was patriotic to protest them. Now if you dare question any actions, comments or bill proposed by the DNC we're branded skin heads, Nazis or Fascists. Funny how the party of free speech wants to silence everyone else and brand everyone else. Just like the Nazis, Fascists, Socialists and Communists of old. For a party that likes to claim they're progressive, they seem to be regressing.

Dissent is the highest form of patriotism. I have no problem with people opposed to the Health Care bill speaking their minds whatsoever. It's when they start lying, I get my boxers in a bunch. Death panels? Forcing people into the public option if they lose their private insurance? Funding for elective abortions? All lies.
