Liberal Hypocrisy - Separation of Church and State? Not When GOD Can Be Used To Sell Health Care Reform »
Posted By pc25 4 months, 2 weeks ago in Political OpinionSeems that separation of Church and State is not a problem If GOD can be used to push Obamacare. Here we have Pelosi at a podium flanked by clergy. Behind her is a wall of flags, and behind the flags a large Crucifix. As the camera pans to the person questioning her it becomes apparent that she is holding this press conference on Obamacare in a Church. Apparently the Dems don't mind some of 'that ole time religion' if it can be used to push THE ONES agenda. And why not? After all, he is the MESSIAH.

SAN FRANCISCO – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says there’s no way the House can pass a health overhaul bill that doesn’t include a new public insurance plan.
Her comments at a news conference Thursday in San Francisco come as the White House faces a liberal backlash for indicating openness to leaving a public plan out of a final health bill.
Pelosi has said repeatedly that health care legislation in the House would have a public plan, but her statement Thursday left no room for doubt.
HEY NOW WE KNOW!!!!!!! IF YOU ARE AGAINST OBAMACARE, NOT ONLY ARE YOU A RACIST, BUT YOU ARE ALSO AGAINST GOD.....-

Actualy, if you are against 'ObamaCare', you are
Reply
against the health care reforms proposed by Obama.
We don't know your motives for doing so;
- and they are not the issue.
Neither is your victimhood of being called racist.
Pelosi would never say "If you disagree with me you are against God".
Only someone who prostituted the
things he declares are holy,
would be so low, vile, and totaly without worth. -

PC, I'm glad you posted this. There was a thread on here a few days ago about who would Jesus insure. I just could NOT believe the hypocrisy of those using religion as a WEAPON against christians after they have ridiculed christianity as a "fairy tale'. Libs have no shame and blasphemy will get you in big trouble even if it takes an eternity.

I just grabbed your nose and twisted, going 'nyuck-nyuck'.
Childish of me?
Pc25 posts this 'article?' accusing Democrats
of being hypocrites; pelosi made a speech at
a church, - and there is a cross in the background!
This is the same Pc25 who told us that Obama covered
up religious symbols at this speech at Notre Dame.
What, is he supposed to treat the Propeller reader
with respect ?
Get real.
He is twisting your nose and going 'nyuk-nyuk'.-

hey bro you are the BIGGEST hypicrite I have ever seen. . all of a sudden Obama and the dems are super super religous The party that wants to fund abortions making a plea for Obamacare in a church. Good One No more of the libs applauding Rev Wright and God D mn America now. No,now its the flags and the cross and the church and the most diverse collection of clergy this side of Rome and the boy scouts and apple pie isn't it. All thats missing is Whitney Houston singing "God Bless America." That might be appropriate because its the 7th inning stretch and you guys are behind otherwise you wouldnt be resorting to this charade. He blew off National Prayer Day in May didnt suit his needs just then. Cant offend the far far left with something as mundane as God. Notre Dame, and Georgetown cover up those crosses boys, cant go around offending the atheist left, who contributed to my campaign. Gee , why religion and God just aint hip you know, and I cant ruin my image to the folks with the money can I now (George Soros), no siree Bob can't do that , they might not contribute in 2012. no sir can't do that at all why me and the far far left have a lot more damage to do to this country before we are through. Ohh Ohh health care is in trouble, Ohh Ohh the far far left is upset with me that I can't deliver health care. Oh Man the people with the money (George Soros) might not contribute in 2012 and we have so much more damage to do to the country yet. Why HALLELUJAH Praise Be to the Lord, I know what to do Uncle George. We will make this a moral argument, Yes sir thats what we will do. Yep call up them priests, get on the horn with them there Reverends, hey but lets skip over that Wright fella shall we? don't want him screwing the pooch on this one. Damn, that last one was close, might not recover this time. . Uncover those crosses boys, light those candles men deliverance is ours. Move those Nativity scenes into those Government buildings.I want "IN GOD WE TRUST" decals put on every Government car. Holiday Trees, not anymore they are Christmas Trees now, I will sign the bill this very moment. Anyone who say Seasons Greetings instead of Merry Christmas mandatory 7 years in the Federal pen. I'm signing that bill immediately also. Redemption is here and victory is ours. Sweet Jesus. HALLELUJAH Yes sir, why these bible thumping, gun toting, clinging, bitter knuckle dragging Neanderthals always respond to a plea when its made in the name of GOD. They will never know what hit them. But just for now Uncle George because you know religion aint cool, God just aint hip and I have an image to uphold. As soon as we schmooz health care past these suckers I promise I will go back to my atheist ways. I promise Uncle George. I promise.

Does it matter to anyone,
that when Obama spoke at Notre Dame,
and some religious background stuff was blocked
off, - you accused him of showing his hate of religion?
Not anyone here.
Really, you are very strange people.
But that does not make you interesting.-

It is hard, for conservatives to remember ;
Reply
but they have no patent on bible, cross or flag.
There is no more hypocricy in a liberal speaking
at a church, with crosses and flags in the background
than for any real human to do so.
Democrats are rarely against God;
one just gets that idea from listening to conservatives
who have gone over the cross with a label gun,
At Obama's notre dame speech,
some background symbls were covered;
- this got us 'Obama hates the cross' postings.
Obama, like Pelosi, says he is a Christian; he does
not need to wear a fish pin next to his flag pin;
nor hide from crosses like a vampire;
Except in the minds of the Pc25 gang.

But doesn't that seem a bit hypocritical? I don't want religious stuff in my background for a "not important" speech, but when I need another reason for my proposal I pull out religion.
Reply
I don't remember the Notre Dame thing, was this at the commencement, so I really am asking - because maybe there was another reason he hid the religious stuff? Otherwise, to me that seem like: I don't have a use for religion unless it will benefit me kinda thing?-

Sadly, what PC and Wolfie and their ilk don't want to admit is that the right-wing uses religion -constantly- when it's convenient for them. Most of the many Republicans caught recently in adultery scandals were some of the most vocal about returning prayers to school, banning gay marriages, and outlawing abortion, all based on their religious beliefs.
Reply
I'm not religious at all, but I think it's despicable for either side to use religion for political gain. PC wants us to think only Dems are doing it, but any brief amount of research will show that in fact, Republicans have using religion for political purposes down to a fine art. 8(

glad that see that you are admitting that you are using the cross, the flag and the bible to puch health care now.............get your facts right ........It was Georgetown, and the request came from the white house......politically inconvenient then. didn't want to offend all those monied far left types that funded his election. Hey but now health care in trouble roll out the crosses, light the candels all of a sudden the Christian cross is not offensive to the Obama administration and all the libs if it will help further their agenda. Hypocrisy and you know it.

Your facts are not mine;
I said the Notre Dame speech.
If you also said something sad about Georgetown,
that's just a plus.
The pretention that I agreed with you is fun.
My turn?
I deeply rejoice, Pc25, that you admit you are no conservative
merely because your hobby is tossing crap at liberals.
If the cross means anything, boyo,
- it is about surrendering yourself to death,
for who and what you love.
Find something to love, Pc25.
A country, a dog, a God, anything.
Your hobby of hate is addicting as heroin;
and as self-destructive.

Oddly enough, this posting is further evidence that some people are very confused about what the separation of church and state means. Clearly Pelosi is delivering a speech on public policy and simply using this church as a forum and there is nothing inconsistent in this with the first amendment. Nothing about this incident expresses any idea that may be construed as advocating an official state religion nor fomenting a policy that would favor one faith to the detriment of another. All her language was secular and this was true even where it applied to the church since she said that "I know members of the faith are not allowed to express opinions on public policy but many of you have been supportive". Thats a pretty big stretch to claim that she intended to imply that God is on the side of public health care. Unless "members of the faith" equals "God" in your mind. I am not sure your credibility is well served by exaggeration, hyperbole, and leaps in logic.

In light of the CBO projections - to say nothing about the bankruptcy of Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac, the Post Office, Amtrak, ect ect - the health care "reforms" being proposed as an economic benefit are just BS, and everyone knows it. So now, health care is a moral and a civil right.
Reply
God help this country if the proposed "reforms" are passed. -

"the final bill will reduce medicare/medicaid costs, expand health care services, and reform the insurance industry".
Reply
It will do none of that, but will destroy the healthcare industry as we know it. Many many doctors will leave the practice or at least get out of "general practioner" segment to avoid the crush of new people and less money. They will continue to have all their present expenses, supplies, staff, insurance coverage, lease payments, ongoing training, salary increases, a ton of federal red tape to deal with, on and on. It will be a disaster for new patients.
Your doctors will all have foreign names and will be from schools like Grenada or other questionable training facilities. They likely will speak poor English and be difficult for many of us to understand.
You are messing with the most basic right we have ... to maintain ourselves the best we can. You are throwing that away and allowing a government bureaucrat make life affecting decisions about you and your family.
No government program in the history of the world has saved money or made anything cheaper than it was before. Any politician who tells you that is a bald-faced liar and that fits Pelosi to a T.
We have to stop this idiocy ... -

I agree she shouldn't have given a political speech in a church. one more reason i don't like her.
Reply
However, I do like what she had to say:
no bill can pass the house without a public option
a coop is not a substitute for a public option
if someone has a better idea they should put it on the table
the final bill will reduce medicare/medicaid costs, expand health care services, and reform the insurance industry.
This is the opportunity, not of a lifetime, of a century.
I may not have the words exactly right, but that's a close paraphrase.-

Listening to church leaders kowtow to Obama while demonstrating their complete ignorance of Christ's words is almost as bad as their kowtowing to a cold-hearted critic of Christianity to start with.
Reply
I dare you liberals to show me from the New Testament:
1. where Christ met anyone's needs with taxpayer money
2. where Christ said everyone else had to take care of their brother, like Obama says, but did not have to get his OWN HALF-BROTHER out of a slum, like Obama refuses to do.
The first and worst mistake any Christian can make is to take his p's and q's from liberal God-haters who dream of the day when they can wipe the Gospel of Christ that indicts them off the face of the earth.
